Hi all.
I'm new to this server but not to the game and I'm considering playing this server upon my return to the game after 3 years out. What are the skill gains and such like? Are the majority of the population friendly and helpful to the newbies and where does most of the pk action happen on here so I know where to avoid?

Re: Hi all.
Skill gain is hard to describe without something to compare to, though its accurate to the true T2A era. If you know what you are doing, its not too difficult to get a character up and running.
I think most people here are friendly, not all obviously. There is one person, somewhere, who helps new players out with houses. He doesn't give them away but co-owners you for a while.
Hot spots are the common hunting grounds i guess...dragons, ophidians, cyclops, britain graveyard, harpy room.
If you like roleplaying, check out the bloodrock orcs. Whether you like to pvp or not matters little, im sure no one would complain if we had an active/dedicated crafter to supply us :-p www.bloodrock.org.
Also, just a note on the shard. It strives for true T2A accuracy. Meaning you wont' see much in the way of frills and extras, you'll see the shard slowly mold to better fit what ultima online was during the T2A time period.

Welcome Wanderer!
This is indeed a great place to restart your gaming experiences!
Keep in mind that this server's goal is to replicate the T2a era. Some people love this ruleset and some prefer others. You may want to check the T2a Wiki linked on this site to understand what era of UO you would be entering as a ton has changed over the years... <-- hows that for an uderstatement.
Skill gain seems to be a little quicker than i remember on OSI but i think that is mostly due to being able to obtain resources easier (reags/iron/gold)... With a smaller player pop you arnt fighting over spawns & vendors as much. That being said, i still find the skill gain to be "slow enough" to be rewarding... I took me 2-3 months to GM my tamer!
This shard, like OSi's, has friendlies, reds, theifs, griefers, antireds, roleplayers, powergamers, order, chaos etc. You will find a little of everything here! There is plenty of room to go off and be by yourself but dont expect to sit at West Brit Bank or harpies, shame lvl1, wrong lvl1, & BGY without dealing with your share of Reds/theifs/greifs.... (And that is how it should be!)
I am 1 of many who fell in love with UO in 1997/98 and had never come across another game that interested me in the same way.
I joined this server about 9 months ago and can say that the staff/playerbase/server reliability/patches & fixes/ and over all gaming experience are truly unbelievable for a free shard!
Hope you like it here!

Re: Hi all.
Thx for the responses guys but I'm having client issues. As for your server being accurate to replicate T2A experience with no frills, thats why I decided to play here. I dont like all these Pvp servers with add-ons and stuff like that because most of the time those servers are full of bugs and exploiters.
Re: Hi all.
There is a forum here for server/client issues. Check it out and you may find your answer or get help. Alternatively, I doubt anyone would mind if you wanna post your problem in this thread...I am sure you'll find the solution needed to get ya going.TheWanderer wrote:Thx for the responses guys but I'm having client issues. Off hand, be sure you don't patch too far. The newest 'reborn' UO clients and such do not work. It's recommended to patch up to version 5.0.8.3. If you did not see them, there are specific client instructions here:
