Archery delayed hit now remembers the weapon used, in the case that it is disarmed during the delay.
This means if i get halfway through the shooting delay on a heavy x bow I can disarm it and then put it back on and only have half the delay til it shoots? Can I switch to another weapon and then put it back on and have half the delay? can I disarm, cast and then put it back on for half the delay?
question about this mornings patch.
Re: question about this mornings patch.
Or does it remember, say, the heavy crossbow timer, and when you disarm to cast, this timer continues?

No,
What this means is that before this patch, if you fired a bow and then unarmed it before it hit, it would check your wrestling skill to determine the hit chance. Now, you can fire the bow and not wait the full second for it to hit before disarming.

Interesting. I'm planning on making an archer so these mechanics are very relevant for me.MatronDeWinter wrote:No,

So is it true that you have to have your archery weapon equipped for the shot timer to continue running?
Edit:
That's probably a confusing way to word it. Shot timer as in, the amount of time before you can fire your next shot.

Re: question about this mornings patch.
No you do not have to have the weapon equipped to prepare your next shot, but if you do have the bow equip, your next shot while ready while you are moving; this is not the case for other weapons.

So the timer does not advance while running without the weapon equipped?Derrick wrote:No you do not have to have the weapon equipped to prepare your next shot, but if you do have the bow equip, your next shot while ready while you are moving; this is not the case for other weapons.

That's correct, with no weapon equiped you're working your wresting timer. There is only one swing timer, it's not on the weapon, it's on the player; the duration and behavior is determined by the weapon you are holding.MatronDeWinter wrote:So the timer does not advance while running without the weapon equipped?

Okay, so unequipping a bow while the timer is ticking will reset my swing timer to 0?Derrick wrote:That's correct, with no weapon equiped you're working your wresting timer. Ex. I shoot something, then start running. The timer is refreshing and has 3 seconds to go before I can take another shot. I disarm (to cast, use a potion ect), so now I am using the wrestle timer. Assuming I am not forced to lose my swing, when I re-arm my bow, will the swing timer be reset to 0?
I'm a bit confused on the mechanics of this one. I'm under the impression that archery always resets the swing timer when armed (because theres no refreshes using the wrestle timer)?
