You had me at hello
Sup folks,
After years of avoiding UO, an old friend recently told me about the UOT2A shard. I'm an old Metropolis/IPY player, so I've been enjoying spending some time reading around the site and getting back into the old UO mindset. So much so, that I was ready to once again forsake my girlfriend, job, sunlight, and everything else that necessarily gets left behind when you play UO. It really looked like a great shard.
Until I read about stat-loss. How very gay. How long until this is changed, so I and many other pvpers I know can join the shard and not get inappropriately penalized for ebolting you candycanes?

Re: You had me at hello
That's terrible if so, and would really hamper your shard population.
Re: You had me at hello
I believe we're willing to take that chance, as stat loss has been a vital part of this server since day 1. I myself am all for stat loss, and am also one of the (if not the most) active pks on this shard.
If you're truly a diehard t2a fan, you shouldn't have an issue. If not, im sure there are other simulated worlds without stat loss..

Re: You had me at hello
hasnt hampered us yet. you gotta understnad you dont die and get loss of skills, you die and can macro off your kills so its like your downtime until you can res... kinda like diablo 2's hardcore player were if you die you are dead forever, but in this case you just have to wait to macro counts, your obviously not a fan of t2a nor a true red pvperRaelinExmortis wrote:That's terrible if so, and would really hamper your shard population.

in which case i would suggest to you, join order/chaos :/ thanks

Re: You had me at hello
No shard should be willing to "take that chance" in sacrificing shard population and subsequent quality pvpers.I believe we're willing to take that chance,
Then there's room for improvement.as stat loss has been a vital part of this server since day 1.
If stat-loss exists on any shard, its red players are not PKs. They're antis with murder counts.I myself am all for stat loss, and am also one of the (if not the most) active pks on this shard.
Let's examine this concept. If you were an actual PK, you'd have more than 5 murder counts, and perhaps you presently do. Otherwise, you're a regular player operating within the constraints of the murder system, staying blue or just above the count limit. However, if you were faced with quality pvpers, you'd die more often. If you were a "PK" then, you'd face statloss with much more frequency (and no bullshit about how "I don't die". If that's true, then the argument for a lack of quality pvp is further bolstered). If you faced statloss more often, you wouldn't appreciate it. It can then be reasonably inferred that
A) There is a lack of quality pvp on this shard
B) Stat-loss, while not absolutely the root cause of it, is certainly a contributor
C) The population of pvpers, and thus the UOT2A shard, would see an appreciable gain with the removal of statloss.
If you're truly a PK or even a knowledgeable UO player in general, you'll realize it's a big issue. If you're truly a diehard t2a fan, you shouldn't have an issue.
A wonderful way to close it, and perhaps people should in fact look elsewhere if your opinion is "my way or the highway", since you're... wrong. If not, im sure there are other simulated worlds without stat loss..
Re: You had me at hello
hey but guess what, you're not the first person to bitch, and it's still not going to change.. you think because you can type up an educated theory, that the entire staff team is going to change their server to suit your needs? yea right.. we've had people like you here before, and im sure you'll end up just like them.. gone within a month, forum-raging. thanks
edit: before we continue our forum-trolling, you're not game-rage are you...?

If it was in T2A then that's how it is. IPY/and Metro weren't real T2A shards.
Re: You had me at hello
Instead of running your mouth maybe you should play the damn shard before you start making judgements on the quality of pvp. Statloss is T2A accurate and THATS what the shard is going for, if you like it or not isnt the issue, its about accuracy. And not only that but i playes siege perilous nearly my entire uo career and never had to deal with statloss and now i play here where there is statloss and its much harder playing a pk now. Lot more people aiming for you, lot harder to stay alive. Statloss seperates the men from the boys and if you can't handle it then don't go red and become an anti. our guild can definitely use more competition seeing as were nearly the only active reds on the shard.RaelinExmortis wrote:No shard should be willing to "take that chance" in sacrificing shard population and subsequent quality pvpers.I believe we're willing to take that chance,

Clyde: if ur better than me u cheat..straight up
Re: You had me at hello
we dont want you playing here if your gonna be an immature little D*#@sucker. just stfu it is the way it was and thats how its gonna stay. if you were a "Quality Pvper" then you would realize i can kill 50 players get that many counts and not die , if i die its because of a gank, if i wanted to fight large groups of people id join chaos/order if i wanted to be sneaky as a read and hunt people id GO red. thus you can macro off your murder counts before you res and you wont suffer stat loss. by the way it sounds you plan on dieing alot, and if thats how u feel then go play somewere else, we would rather have quality players that are appreciative instead of the ones that bitch and complain. do you pay anything for this serveR? no derrick does.RaelinExmortis wrote:No shard should be willing to "take that chance" in sacrificing shard population and subsequent quality pvpers.I believe we're willing to take that chance,

Re: You had me at hello
You named this thread "You had me at hello" and you start bitching about stat-loss? I can tell you right now any 'decent' pvper wouldn't complain about stat loss, they'd understand it. Having stat-loss means not every joe shmo and their dog will be red. It makes being a murderer actually worth something and actually takes skill to play because if you die, you have to either macro off your murder counts or rez and retrain some skills. It means that when you see a red, he's either worth a shit and hard to take down, OR he's some idiot who went red and will easily be destroyed. I wouldn't have it changed for anything, im glad to be a red myself and it takes skill to never die so as to avoid the stat loss. Don't come to our shard telling us what we need to change JUST so you and a few of your buddies will come play. If you dont like stat loss then just do chaos and order like Alatar said.

It's just disappointing to read your response.
I'll address it, even though you didn't, or weren't capable of giving me the same consideration.

Ah, so at least a few other people agree with me, but yet...hey but guess what, you're not the first person to bitch
...you're boasting that your shard ignores its potential playerbase?and it's still not going to change..
I fully believe that the staff should pay attention to people who have a reasonable, "educated" suggestion about improving the shard, yes.you think because you can type up an educated theory, that the entire staff team is going to change their server to suit your needs?
Maybe that's true. Has that been a victory to you?yea right.. we've had people like you here before, and im sure you'll end up just like them.. gone within a month

ahem i said that
Re: You had me at hello
This shard is not about becoming the next popular shard. It's about creating an era accurate replica, which has never honestly been attempted for the T2A era.
We have an unmatched base of quality players and staff who understand that goal.
