Can anyone tell me wat a dire wolf is and why does the taming skill have to be 83 to tame them?

The Dire Wolf looks like a normal Timber Wolf. It sounds like a normal Timber Wolf. It is NOT a normal Timber Wolf. The Dire Wolf is an evil creature which is not to be underestimated. It is VERY aggressive, often moving to attack a person before the victim can see it. Though it can only take the same amount of damage as a Timber Wolf (not much), it hits harder and much more often than it's cousin. Be careful--newbies should be very wary around these animals. A few unlucky hits, and you could be lunch.
When you play with fire, there is a 50/50 chance something will go wrong, and nine times out of ten it does.

hah ok. i had an unfortunate run-in with one a few hours ago. i tried to get away but i lagged n the next thing i knew i was dead :/ thank u, u were very informative.
