Chest/Trap Levels..
If a certain chest has x amount of lockpicking skill needed , then so would it need the equivelent amount of skill in remove trap if you wanted remove trap rather then telekinesis?

Re: Chest/Trap Levels..
If you remove trap on a higher level chest and fail, you blow up. It's sort of self correcting.

Re: Chest/Trap Levels..
I guess what I am trying to ask (and I know death is inevitable). Is instead of macroing with a tinker as my tinker now is in the 70s range...do I follow the lockpicking guidelines for trying to raise remove trap until I hit about 65- 67?

Re: Chest/Trap Levels..
I would just use the Telekinesis spell on the chest after it has been unlocked. Just a warning, stand back when doing this.

Re: Chest/Trap Levels..
I dont want to use telekenesis...I want to be hidden the whole time. I know I can if I have to but I don't want to have to.
What if I am in someone's house and they have trapped chests?
I don't want to go out with a group, or juggle two characters while doing dungeon chests.
My temp is...
Stealth
Hiding
Lockpicking
Detect Hidden
Remove Traps
Magery
Resist...
Definately not a PVA character "Versus Anything"
I just made another tinker...I hate doing it this way but if I must I must.

Re: Chest/Trap Levels..
im not 100% certain, but i think if you start looting a chest you become unhidden. I might be wrong but the only thing that doesnt reveal you is looting your own corpse.
Edit: Actually i think im wrong on this, i remember reading Matrons quest thread and he was looting players chests without being revealed. resist is nice but i was talking to some people and they said for a house/dungeon looter wrestling is really nice and same with meditation.

Re: Chest/Trap Levels..
Correct: Looting (a corpse*) will reveal you.

When you play with fire, there is a 50/50 chance something will go wrong, and nine times out of ten it does.

Re: Chest/Trap Levels..
Yeah I have been wrong a few times myself trying to cram all I can in very little time...you can loot chests hidden just not corpses, the reason being is people would hide and loot while throwing trade windows up.
That was their remedy to the problem at the time.
You can loot chests though hidden, look at all the house robbery pics!

Re: Chest/Trap Levels..
On AI making dart traps would raise tinkering just the right amount to continue gaining RT if you trained them together. At least to the point where you stopped gaining from making dart traps. Anyone know if that works here, or do I need to stop tinkering gains at certain levels till RT catches up?

Re: Chest/Trap Levels..
You have to stop Rt, and wait for tinkering to catch up actually. Until the end really.Baldamier wrote:On AI making dart traps would raise tinkering just the right amount to continue gaining RT if you trained them together. Re: Chest/Trap Levels..
The rogue trap remover has to be the best reason to have at least one other account. Nobody in their right mind would dedicate their tinker just for you unless you grew up together or something mushy like that
.
Because I am not in my right mind
I got to put myself through this myself.
Good Grief!
Is there a rent a tinker service around?
Also for everyone else hopping aboard the lockpicking / remove band wagon hitting every chest in the towns...I notice if you don't wipe the chests clean often times they just relock the mechanism while maintaining only the leftover items rather then replenishing. So if you would take everything out even if you don't keep everything please do.
Just saying in two days time lockpicking I made enough to buy a small just by that and load my bank with useful items to boot. If we are all going to do that hook up your fellows...and I will make sure to do my part as well. Besides you are going to hit all the places you can resell to anyway, and believe me it all adds up in the end.
(PS.-The proper request to get the present theif guildmistress Amaia to train you in removing traps is Amaia train Remove...not remove(ing) trap(s) , disarm etc.)
