what a coincidence someone else is bringing this up

I'll refer you to my thread that I made attempting to discuss this. Not only can you have 3 accounts (which in itself is not correct since you do not have to pay for an account.. no curb), you can have 1 house per character slot (outrageous). Multi-Clienting also leads to other shard-damning rituals such as ghosting... and in the end it really screws the economy. The only way anyone will see the light is when everything falls apart.

I am sorry you must bottom-feed all the remaining sorry house spots because someone out there that has 10 billion gold and has placed 15 houses.. and probably has even more than that. Not to mention there are MANY unused houses out there that friended people continually go around and refresh at the prospect that their friend(s) may return to play.

Please take special note of the vote-count at the top of my thread.

I happen to own a keep, two towers, 3 bricks, 3 patios 1 2-story and 5 smalls.

I'm upset that there aren't other spaces to drop a patio to upgrade my 5 smalls.

Oh, that's right. Its only that way because I have all my houses dropped within 10 screens of each other and placed my first house only in February.

How did I do it? I placed and waited for others to fall. Its the same way I had 5 houses on OSI. You can do it too.

Do you honestly believe that a lack of housing space... is bad for this shard?

WTF is a skillball?

And Kraruug, what is the point of having 15 houses? I'm not trying to be a dick, I honestly don't get it.

If you read my post thoroughly I am not chalking up a shard fail to housing alone. It is all these things working in conjunction.

Yes I think it is bad overall. Especially for newer players coming in. This thread here proves that.

I must admit I am kinda confused that you seem to be against my points in this thread. However in the thread I linked to you are arguing for me.

I know you've said you know it is Era Accurate but that alone closes any debate

Sorry I worded my post in the other thread very badly.

I meant limited housing space as in no free spots to place. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

You are only taking certain points of the argument if you think that closes the debate. The truth is you do not have to pay for an account. This makes it so every player can have 15 houses. A curb should be put in somewhere. Whether its account limit (maybe make it so you can have more accounts if you subscribe), connection limit(same deal as account limit), or housing limit. The first would eliminate many things such as ghosting, housing, resource macroing, using an alt while you macro off murders, etc (All of these things make for a stronger economy). A housing limit would directly address this issue though.

It would have to be a substantial change such as limiting the number of accounts to one if we are pressing the accuracy of things.
I think ghosting is a much larger problem than housing right now, housing seems like it may be a future problem it isn't anything that anyone is suffering from currently.

People that are willing to look hard enough are still finding a keep spot or two. Large towers aren't difficult to place, and there is 85% of an island (fire isle) that has plenty of room for larges and smalls alike. Or go to ice isle, if people don't want to live there that is there issue and not a housing issue.

Limiting housing at this point of the shards history is just silly. All it will serve to do is make the shard feel more empty.

Wow, this thread isn't a battle of the has vs has-nots now is it? (sarcasm)

Its a bit late in the game to change things, but the shard should have a 3 house limit from the start.

Anyone who says they need 15 houses is an idiot.

Quit whining.

Houses can be placed...

Keep spots STILL exist.

In reply to the first page of posts::

After my first week here i was able to place a 7x7 with no problem, actually found a few spots to place (close to where my house was while playing on Great Lakes **** location will not be disclosed lol)
When you play with fire, there is a 50/50 chance something will go wrong, and nine times out of ten it does.

Ok, for complaints on housing...

There are many large spots available. Run around... learn that you dont need a 50x50 clearing to drop... there are alot of secluded spots that trained eyes can see.

Understand that many vets have 15 house and dont use most of them.

This is a community game. Put a book on the step, ask in irc, make a forum post here if you find a spot you like.

MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, you can get that space for a very small fee (10K or less). MANY times you will find people who just deed up.

I have paid for a couple spots and have had 4 different people simply deed and move bc they wernt using the local. I have deeded and moved bc i wasnt using the local...

This game has always been about interaction and has always been about hoarding land space.

I drop and deed large bricks and patios all over the world weekly looking for housing i like.

Its a community people... you will be surprised how cheaply (if you have to pay at all) most people will deed a non premium house local they arnt using if you simply ask them.

This is one of the reasons the situations is BS

The point is you can hoard 3 times the amount of land space due to multi-accounts

Im not going to argue this here. It has been said time and time again that housing restrictions didnt come in before april of 2000

Biohazard, you would probably be alot better off just embracing the system here and moving on. The fact that you CAN place smalls basically anywhere and that there are many large (and even some XLs) spots available is a hell of alot better than the t2a time period.

I dont even know why this is an issue to you... Unless you joined this shard in early 98 there is zero chance of you having a super premo spot unless you buy one... Everything besides super-premos & castles is easily available right now.
