Tournaments in old UO compared to ours.

A tourney in the old days was a place to show respect to someone while trying to beat them fairly in a 1 on 1 or 2 vs. 2. If you win. You say Good job or nice try.

Here i think with the automatic tournaments, people don't treat it as a special event. On this server if you win or lose it's "you suck" or "noob" etc.

Well my grandfather always said " Lead by example and show people how to be good".

OK, some poeple like tourny's, some don't, why can't we meet in the middle? I say we just make tournaments way less frequent(maybe once a week, or once a month) and for ctf and dd events, only the top 2 or 3 players should get trophies, that way, if someone gets a trophy, you know its b/c they played well and didn't just get one b/c they were on the winning team. I think this would make tournys more competitive, and trophies(if they were re-instated) a lot more rare and valuable.
