Item ID questions.
Is the skill difficulty based? As in is there a minimum skill for Iding better weapons, or does it just determine your success rate? I assume it's success rate. If so, anyone have an idea of skill/success, as in what would be a minimum effective skill level?
Re: Item ID questions.
Your assumption is correct. It doesn't matter what you use Item ID on to gain skill. I personally used my newbie dagger. I don't have any percentages for you though.Arkosh Kovasz wrote:Is the skill difficulty based? As in is there a minimum skill for Iding better weapons, or does it just determine your success rate? Re: Item ID questions.
Yeah, ID is not skill based at all. Only % i know is 100% = never fail.
With a 15 char limit most people either have a ID mule or a Shopper.
here is my GM shopper (obviously i have way too much time on my hands to create this toon...)
100 Hiding
100 Stealth
100 Detect hidden
100 Item ID
100 Magery
100 Med
100 Arms lore.
Thought about having tracking over arms, but gm detect is safe enough, and It is cool to be able to armslore a wep before buying it.
Typically i use this char to vendor shop while stealthed. I detect before i buy items (especially if im buying a rare or something).

Re: Item ID questions.
Item ID is one of my favorite thief skills. Saves me from wasting my time on a mark with a crappy magic weap. You snoop someones bag and item id within their bag as well which is cool.
