Good to hear...
I had to rethink alot of my temps alot of the time, and I have changed skills so often on some characters it isnt funny. So I totally identify.
Of course I will do the tried and true templates but I like variety.
Going by the book would have never gotten us to the moon.
I encourage everyone to have at least one experimental or lesser played template in their party of characters to play with.
The risk is the reward...and its exciting to play in different playstyles other then the norm.

Re: Lockpicker Sabateur
When I started this temp I was under the impression you could trap locked down boxes in houses and in dungeons. I had asked around in irc if it were possible. Somebody said "Yeah, Chumbucket racked up an insane amount of murder counts that way".
The thing is that you can't trap dungeon chests or locked down containers in peoples houses.
You hear all sorts of bull from everyone. Someone told me you couldnt stack poisoned food, but I found a way that you can. You have to drag the poisoned food out of your pack put it on the ground and then drag it straight to person (not in your pack but to your character and it stacks). That isn't going to cost you to try that if you have a poisoner it's just a neat trick. Like I tried with stealthing my horse or gating monsters.
Have I been wrong a few times, yeah...but I am experimenting alot and already found a few tricks no one else seemed to know that existed.
I was told you could drop hiding after you GM stealth and just use it while invisible, I have yet to try it but I am not putting faith in it either way until I do.
If you think an idea might work the only way to be sure is to try it, because I found out alot of people don't know. Try it diiferent ways as well. I was asking sources I thought were legitimate about certain things and they just didn't know.
That said you can still mimic chests trapping craftable replicas when they despawn or in areas they would seem to be.
