A questions for ACTIVE treasure hunters.

Post by Hoots »

For those of you out doing maps... with out current rules set (3 accounts, 15 players) do you use music/provo on your thunter.

Potential template. 100 Carto, LP, Magery, Med, Hiding

then either music/provo or stealth/remove trap??

My thinking is stealth and RT could do dunegon chests (and be a good way to actually get to 100 LP).

So do you actually use your barding or is it better to go w/ stealth and something else?

Thanks for all opinions/suggestions.

Looking for info from people actually out doing maps. What works best?

Until I had my tamer:

100 Cartography
100 Lockpick
100 Mage
100 Med
100 Hiding
100 Music
100 Provoke

I used an alternate character to finish off the mobs who survived, as I didn't have eval.

Same except I ended up switching Hiding out for Resist.

I have the same template, but I'm thinking of dropping either Meditation or Hiding for Wrestling.

With Provocation, I don't really cast that much, mostly just healing myself. And with hiding, obviously it's not too useful when you get revealed whenever you move something and cannot be hidden while digging up the chest.

Thats why you hide the exact moment the chest pops. I've yet to not be able to hide right after digging up any level chest, I've even had the opportunity to have a double slayer/double ll spawn, hid with ease.

I would love to give up something to have more eval to finish mobs, but otherwise Magery/Med/Hiding/Cart/Lock/Music/Provo works pretty flawless for me. For dungeons I had a runebook in my house that was marked right next to chest spawns; I'd gate with my other mage, hide in my house, double-click gate, lockpick then run away, telekinesis chest, then if I was aggro'd, I'd just tele hide to the chest.

Yeah, I guess my mistake is bringing my horse with me. The one level 5 chest I pulled up, I tried to hop on my horse and hide, and just didn't pull it off. I'm not sure if it's possible to consistently hide when the Balrons pop up, they just target you so damn fast...

I have alatar's template on my t-hunter also, it works great for me.

Having a horse makes it harder to hide on those chests for sure, you have to time it right, because you can actually hop on your horse right before the last dig and it'll still dig the rest up, so it gives you like 2 seconds extra.

You can actually mount your horse once you start digging the chest without interrupting the digging.

Double-click shovel, click map, click ground, wait a sec, double-click mount = success.

Is that accurate :p I thought it "LITERALLY" said you cannot dig up treasure chests while mounted. You can't mine while mounted so it's exactly the same thing. This is a bug.

Show me a patch note that says you cannot dig up treasure while mounted.

Since many THunters are looking at this topic, please be courteous and axe your chests after your done. There's been alotta empty chests lying about lately.

Even for mining it only checks when you actually target the spot to mine, so technically you could target the mountain and then hope on a horse really fast and still get the ore in your backpack.
