To assist with GM duties and transfer of stones to other players I propose the following:
When a standing GM declares fealty to another player, the fealty of those pointing towards him or her should be directed to the other player.
What this does is keep the power of guild members to remove leaders by a fealty but also allows the quick transfer of power by those ‘elected’.
Here is an example:
Code: Select all
GM1 Has 80% of the fealty of a guild. He/She decides to quit, retire, or step-down and declares fealty to Player 2 of his/her choosing. Player 2 (GM2 Now) will have 80% plus the fealty of GM1.
If the members grow unhappy with that choice, they organize and declare fealty to Player 3 and now Player 3 is GM3.
Some things that may not be accurate with the way Guild stones work here on UOSA?

# Declare fealty - lets you set who you are loyal to.
* The default is yourself.
* The person with the most people loyal (directly or indirectly) is automatically the leader of the guild.
The requirement for control by fealty seems to be only 51% or a simple majority.
Default fealty is to oneself. You have to actively go to the stone and declare fealty to another. I believe that on UOSA default fealty is to the standing GM.
It’s that second issue, where a players fealty is automatically pointing to the standing GM that causes the need for the suggestion I’ve proposed.
