IRC/Forum Scammer Reports (moving to trading post)
IRC/Forum Scammer Reports (moving to trading post)
First and foremost I would like to ask that this thread not be removed or transferred to trash talk. I believe that this will help the community grow to avoid known scammers.
Rules:
1. No profanity or vulgar talk whatsoever. This must be a clean respectable thread.
2. If you are accused of scamming you have the right to defend yourself, but by respectable means only.
3. Do not take it personally, it is only a game. And this is in no way some attempt to get someone in trouble or anything. This is to help out honest businessmen(and women) of uosa.
~
If you have been taken advantage of by using IRC or forums you can post them here. This will help people grow aware to take extra precautions from known scammers. This is in no way meant to bash known scammers to the point where they can't make business. This is only meant to make people more aware to strive for a more secure trade by whatever means possible.
Please keep this a respectable thread so it does not get deleted or moved to trash talk, most good honest players of uosa do not even glance at the trash talk thread, and I simply do not know where else to put the thread.

Don't you sell broken weapons on your vendor?

Yeah and I include that on my shops website that all the armor is fully repaired but not all the weapons are repaired and you have to find your own means of repairing them. Except for the vendor Tabari which our GM Blacksmith runs, all weapons are fully repaired on him.Kabal wrote:Don't you sell broken weapons on your vendor?
At any rate that would have nothing to do with IRC or forum scamming anyways, that is something totally in game alone.

It's not a scam to sell broken weapons unless you're calling them brand new

I think this a very positive step forward for the shard as a whole. Rather than he said/she said rhetoric, we can now make it completely public and allow the accused to defend themselves.
As long as it stays clean, I think this will be one of the most important postings on the forums available to the player base.

This could be a great way to keep track of who is who .. and help with the reputation of people being worth some thing .. I'm glad some one has taken it a personal goal to start a way of tracking active irc forums scamers ..
To keep this Thread Clean and useful to the masses I would hope that this thread could remain locked and only altered by Josh after some one has been proven to have scammed on irc forums without a reasonable dout. And another Thread be started for accusing people of this .. that way you don't have to read though 10pages of post to find proven scammers and weed out names of people accused on no basis.

Yes, because whenever I visit a vendor in UO, I make sure to try and google first and see if that person has a random website somewhere telling me to except some items to be broken.JoshuaLee wrote:Yeah and I include that on my shops website that all the armor is fully repaired but not all the weapons are repaired and you have to find your own means of repairing them.Kabal wrote:Don't you sell broken weapons on your vendor?

Re: Known IRC or forum scammers official thread.
Derrick is a scammer.
He steals my tamer power every time someone shows him a report about tamers being weak little girls from 1998. I will take it back when he returns the tamer to it's rightful place as god of UO.

Re: Known IRC or forum scammers official thread.
correction .. to be a forums scam in this nature derrick would be the scamie (spelling is questionable) .. but from your statement a scam would be someone making fake webpages/post .. to look era acc. then making post on our forums and getting derrick to belive it .. (i'm not saying this is the case at all) but if what your talking about is true its the only way i can see there being a forums scam.Robot wrote:Derrick is a scammer.

Also, on a positive note, 100% good transactions 0 bad transactions. So I don't want people to think the trade board or IRC is full of scammers. There's just a few of them.JoshuaLee translated wrote:I'm not a scammer, I'm a scumbag. There's a difference, jeez.
Re: Known IRC or forum scammers official thread.
Good idea, would help out a lot. It'd be nice if there was a kind of ebay notoriety system so that buyers/sellers knew who was good to their word and such.
