Food and skill gain?
Food and skill gain?
Do you gain skill faster if you are full?
Does being full affect your success chances with skills?
Does being full affect your success chances with skills?

Both of these were pretty heavy rumors. Some people swore it did (and even wrote guides to include how full you should be), OSI confirmed time and time again that fullness had no effect on either of these. Though most of the community felt it didKabal wrote:Do you gain skill faster if you are full?

Re: Food and skill gain?
Yeah there was a time where I was convinced that it at least indirectly affected skill gain. Maybe if you were well fed, your chance to succeed in a skill increased, and by result, your success rate/ skill gain improved.
But I guess that's not true. Although I do get superstitious in-game sometimes.

Actually, they never really confirmed or denied it I don't think (during T2A at least). That was part of the reason the rumors kept going.poogoblin wrote:Both of these were pretty heavy rumors. Re: Food and skill gain?
There are UOHOC logs where the designers stated that food did not help with skill gains.
I have posted these logs here in the past on the forums.

Re: Food and skill gain?
there have been times when I was macroing something at a high level and was gaining very slow, but then ate some food while macroing and gained a skill point the instant i ate the food. Because I've seen this happen so many times, I think food does affect skill gain imho.

You can agree with me then.
Food has absolutely zero effect on anything other than the messages about your hunger on Second Age.
Doesn't effect fizzling, skill gain, effectiveness of skills, etc.

So eating does effect something...

Re: Food and skill gain?
Oh sorry, I was referring to the main points in the OP.
I didn't think I'd have to point out that it helps with HP and stam, since those are clearly noticed when you actually eat something in-game, but I'll be more clear in future messages.
PS - you guys are picky =P

Re: Food and skill gain?
It would confuse people if you're saying it has zero effect on anything when it actually does have an effect on some things, only reason I mentioned it.

Re: Food and skill gain?
Yeah, I apologize. I took a pretty long break from the shard and before I left food had zero effect on anything, and I haven't been able to catch up with all the patch notes yet.
