Re: Great shard but pvp mechanics are inaccurate.

IPY and Divinity are two of the worst shards in regard to t2a accuracy known to the pre:uor server community.

I would highly suggest learning the facts surrounding the demo and the way it's used here for research before throwing off the wall comments like in your post.

Try to understand that this shard is based on replicating the t2a era to its full potential. Balancing or developing isn't a process that this shard considers at all for accurate game mechanics. Policy is an entirely different issue for already stated reasons. However, this shard does not cater to any particular interest groups and the pvp community is one of those many groups.

Please back your claims up with references or information based on factual documentation to prove your claims. The pvp here has been thoroughly researched through numerous sources and is pretty concrete. I don't see you coming up with anything that hasn't already been presented.

Good luck.

This is just your typical Pre:Ren UO junkies that played inaccurate and very awful shards like IPY and Divinity, nothing more.

I would suggest disregarding all of your knowledge and experience from those crappy shards, and try learning how to pvp in the real t2a system the way it was...

If you want to argue accuracy with me all night long please feel free too. I will just tell you one thing before you attempt doing this though...

You will lose and be proven wrong each and everytime, that is a gurentee.

Good luck.

I agree the PVP system is very flawed here. Where they came up with some of the ideas is beyond me. There are some serious inaccuracies i think need to be corrected.

You were always good at childish name calling Hemporer... Never good at pvp either for that matter. I must be one heck of a troll with 5 posts.

Personally i think everyone here does a great job of ignoring the inaccuracies of pvp. Also if ever addressed in game players are told to take it to the forum, and the matter will get ignored quickly or flamed by someone with a one sided opinion like yourself.

With that said i don't agree with everything this guy is saying but i do think some changes need to be made. All of which i have posted about and gotten no strait answers on.

Regards,

Nobody ignores anything, most things aren't implemented off "feeling" there needs to be proof to refute things the way they are. Unfortunately you'll find alot of documentation for certain things aren't there so things will be left as is.

Again, can you post what the developers are ignoring?

Spell failure with a weapon on is my major complaint. No one has been able to show me proof of this being in the T2A era...... all the threads i read point to the developers making a change based on popular opinion not on proven facts.

Auto-disarm when targeting a spell was added when pre-casting was reintroduced during UOR.

There are plenty of sources out there explaining how this new precasting mechanic (the one you're referring to) differs from the original T2A (and earlier) version.

http://update.uo.com/design_346.html

Pre-casting was re-enabled but the game was still awful... There were no weapon cycles since the equip delay was forced upon equipping at all times since insta hit was gone. Insta hit only worked for characters with high dex making it pretty much useless for most tank mages. The only type of traditional tank mage that benefited from the reimplementation was archery mages. Most people had to use a hybrid of some suit to make it effective.
