For ideas on how to make Second Age a better shard. Can it get any better? Maybe.

Trade Window Security - Not Era Accurate?

Post by Stuck »

Patch Notes for 02/23/2000 (http://wiki.uosecondage.com/index.php?t ... 02/23/2000):
Trade Window Changes

Trade windows will become more secure.

* You will not be able to trade a trapped item.
* You will not be able to trade an item that was recently stolen.
* You will not be able to trade items to a player if that player cannot hold the items.
o If the items are too heavy for the player or if the items would exceed the number of items the player can carry, the trade will fail. All items in the trade window will go back into each character’s pack.
* You will not be able to pick items up while the trade window is open. However, you will still be able to rearrange items in your own pack during the trade.
Presumably, this means that prior to 2/23/2000, during t2a:
-You were able to trade trapped items.
-You were able to trade items recently stolen.
-You were able to trade items if the other player couldn't hold the weight.
-You were able to pick up items while the trade window was open.

Does anybody remember this from t2a?

I remember this. mainly because I had a tinkerer and it ruined the whole ability to get someone to open a trapped box. cause you could check it by trying to trade it with someone. also I used to trade boards with players and when the trade window closed, I would pick up the boards as they fell to the ground and pop them back in the bank.

Speaking of Tinkers....back in the day you could trap chests and not receive murder counts when someone died from your trap.

I used to sit in deceit hidden on my tinker, and trap dungeon chests.....it was some of the most fun I have ever had playing UO. Of course, OSI had to go and start giving Tinkers murder counts.....and then they changed the way trapped chests worked all together....The explosion traps used to re-arm themselves, does anyone remember any of this?

bump.

I'm going to try and get some of these discrepancies fixed soon. Hopefully along with the fix for trapping containers and doors and item decay within decoration containers.
