you are right but doesnt it get old by the many times you mention this?Faust wrote:No one forces anyone to play on a shard that aims to replicate the real version of Ultima Online that existed...
no argument at all or we can just simply remove the froums and just leave the patch notes on the mainpage.. just imagine all of your 3k+ posts would be lost.. omg

Back to topic:
Can someone give me an idea of how much a carto costs until 95 real cartography are reached?
Are there any disadvantages in decoding a map before im able to sell them even if there would be a month between?
Thanks!
Re: Selling T-Maps after the Next Patch is Implemented
After this next patch, once you decode a map, you will technically be bound to that map and no other player will be able to dig it up except you, map basically becomes useless to everyone else.Homie wrote:you are right but doesnt it get old by the many times you mention this?Faust wrote:No one forces anyone to play on a shard that aims to replicate the real version of Ultima Online that existed...

I suppose you could sell the chest to someone (ie: you go dig it up for them.)

Just do a mystery map, call it for 5k and you shouldn't lose too much ;/

Re: Selling T-Maps after the Next Patch is Implemented
just give me the map, ill go dig it up and tell you waht level it is, then you can go sell it

5K seems like a fair price all around for a treasure map. Maybe a little more depending on the monster it was dropped off of. Players won't be fucked over that bad off of Level 1.

5k for a map that has a net profit of around 1200g.Werthers Chewbackas wrote:5K seems like a fair price all around for a treasure map. Maybe a little more depending on the monster it was dropped off of. Players won't be fucked over that bad off of Level 1.
-3800g != profit

Selling 25 "unknown" level maps for 5k ea...and we have a buyer for 125k.
tmap seller: here you are sir
tmap buyer: thanks! I can't wait to see how many lvl 4/5s I got out of this bunch
tmap seller: good luck, I have no idea what level they are
an hour passes
tmap buyer: man the first 10 tmaps were all lvl 1s, wth
tmap seller: ouch, bad luck keep at it, I'm sure there is a high level tmap in there that I fished up...

Im not going to sit here and say i have a hard on for cutting bandages 1x1 or other Inconvenient patches that are added for the sake of accuracy...butNayee wrote:this portion of the patch is completely ridiculous. goodbye treasure hunting!
This will end up having a very T2A feel imho.
It will be no differ from kegs of yellow liquid.
Honest vendors should be very happy about this change as you will build a rep and probably do more business.
Buyers...how many times do you get scammed on a vendor before you simply never drop another gp on it?
Vendor scamming has always been a part of this game... especially in this era. It probably was a very good money maker on production...But as a certain singing ball incident has showed us... people should probably think twice before ruining their rep on a 300-400 pop free shard..
Re: Selling T-Maps after the Next Patch is Implemented
No, you guys keep overlooking the fact that different level maps can and have dropped from the SAME monster. So even if I labeled it "tmap dropped from XYZ" when it did in fact drop from XYZ does not mean it will be level 4. It could be that he dropped a level 3, which is known to happen.
So, good luck selling tmaps. Might be worth your while now to make a thunter and dig em up yourselves.

Enough with "perfect" era accuracy.
Derrick left runebooks in the game that arent era accurate, leave stuff like this alone as well.
Guess ill get rid of the carto/lockpick on my bard and just do the boring mob grind for cash again.

Re: Selling T-Maps after the Next Patch is Implemented
If you have a PvMer and a treasure hunter this should be no problem. I never buy maps. Guess it sucks for people who don't have both though...
Cart isn't that expensive really. Its the only skill I know of that gets cheaper as you raise it. Blank maps are 3gp, and world maps sell for 3gp. Every time you succeed you get a free try, so it's essentially free to train from 95 - 99.5 (takes forever though). Be sure to say "vendor buy" before selling the world maps and they instantly get converted to blank maps. If you don't say "vendor buy" first they just disappear. You can AFK macro your current stock of maps, but you CANNOT AFK macro buying and selling them. Not efficiently anyway. Trust me. I've tried everything. If only you could disable buy agents in a macro...

It won't matter too much that different levels can spawn on the same type of mosnter. Post it as looted from monster type X at a price that makes sense given the range of what it might be. If it drops level 1, 2 and 3s, post it roughly at what you post a 2 at now. Figure out how to adjust prices based on the probability of its being some level or other.

Actually, I think it works the opposite. It turns the Treasure hunter template into something more valuable, knowing that only THAT template can hunt treasure.Nayee wrote:this portion of the patch is completely ridiculous. goodbye treasure hunting!
Treasure hunting should be for players who legitimately like to hunt treasure, not just seen as "Gold farming template C."
