This sounds scary and are these upcoming changes already published somewhere? I'd just hate to work all night and some day next week log on at 8AM EST and get killed while killing stuff because of fatigue. Yes...I know that when you log on there is some type of mention about a new patch but a lot of times it's important to just log. Fatigue changes scare me and have you wondering about food and all sorts of other things.

I played on the TC last night and the change really isn't noticeable on foot, basically all the fatigue change will ultimately do is speed up the progression of those fights that span half of Brittania due to people running away on their horses.

If it's era accurate you should be able to dismount, say all follow me a couple of times, and be back off to the races.

That "bug" is implemented in this latest patch.

So, I really don't remember being kicked off of my horse this often in t2a. I also don't remember it every saying your mount is too fatigued to move. I'm sure i'm wrong if it's in, but I don't remember it.

Something needs to be fixed about this immediately. Running from the skara inn to the bank 2 houses away, my mount fatigued once and kicked me off twice. I can't run for more than 20 steps on mount without it fatiguing.

Maybe this is just my opinion here, but I feel like the era accuracy needs to stop at a certain point. Yes, t2a rulesets can be achieved while still implementing some features of later eras that made UO better, not worse.

Custom housing, blessed runebooks, bank checks... those won't detract from the t2a rules but will affect many people in a positive way.

Again, not sure if this is popular opinion or not. Just throwing it out there.

Of course those things detract from t2a rules. Think about it, why do you want a blessed rune book? Because when your noob ass gets pked, you'd love to have a selection of 15 different places to teleport to afterwards. That would be a shitload of gameplay that wasn't possible in the era, just a small example, but anything inaccurate affects something.

I applaud the effort being made by the staff. While changes are not going to please everyone, they are necessary in order to keep in line with the Shard's Goal of being, "Simply the way it was". I have been very vocal on the forums since joining this community and have seen my opinions listened to, and then changes were made. There is nothing more frustrating than knowing you are right about something, only to be ignored by the staff. Well, I can honestly say that around here, the staff may not agree with everything, but they do read the forums, and they try really hard to make this shard as accurate as possible.

The only thing that concerns me from time to time, is that when comparing t2a to the current shard, I feel like the staff sometimes tries to narrow things down to a month time period back in 1999, instead of the entire era.

All in all, Kudos to the staff, you guys are gonna end up making this server, the most populated of all free servers by the time its all been said and done. Keep up the good work!

You have to narrow it down to a specific date or you would not have a system that actually existed in the t2a period. For example, the t2a ran from October '98 all the way until April '00. Now let's use two of the most common features commonly known for the t2a era that being insta hit and pre-casting. Now let's say we kept insta hit and used the removal of pre-casting in January '00. This would create an inconsistant system that never actually existed in any period of the t2a era. By narrowing the timeframe down to a specific date you can be sure that there will be no problems like this at all. This also removes the "cherry picking" process where someone rather it be the players or admins from having to do this. Since we have an exact timeframe to build from implementing what existed and didn't during that specific date we can implement a system that actually existed in the t2a era. The timeframe that was chosen is most commonly agreed upon as the best point in time of the t2a era.

I myself hate the mount fatigue changes, not 5 minutes ago, i was taming in t2a, and while moving through a mob, i was caught unprepared, but i figured my mount was fast enough to avoid it, halfway through, my brand new ozzy is stopped by fatigue, leaving me to die

Or if it was life and death situation you could have just dismounted and ran away on foot..

It works both ways. I've had to give up chase on players due to running out of stamina, more than once.

I disagree.

The number seems to be increasing almost daily.

I must admit, i wish we had yadda yadda and blah blah (the usual rants), but most assuredly I find the server stable with a great bunch of players. (Myg, Grey Snow, Venus and BigTheo to name a few!).

The wife and I had 17 accounts on EA Great Lakes for over 10 years, castles and towers a plenty. Im having more fun now in UO with our 3 small houses than ever I did owning all that.

Ingot by ingot, board by board; this is a blast!!!

Kudo's to Derrick and Staff.
Sure am glad no-one called the guards!

I must say I was kinda thinking "hmmm?" when I saw this thread title. Like the above poster said, the population is only increasing. The bank has so many people now compared to before the patch and I see more pvpers now than I did months ago when tournaments/CTF were happening all the time.

So what if some "popular" pvpers left? I'm enjoying seeing the new faces that replaced them.
