Nice! I agree. If any MMORPG template needs to be ripped off, and distributed into the MMO market. It's this one.

We need more full pvp/Completely open skill-based MMOs

Check out Mortal Online. It has everything you just mentioned Duke.

It should be out around spring, I'm currently in the beta. So far so good.

I have never seen another game with a housing system like UO. All the new games seem like your house is an internal thing that only you can see. UO was all about real estate. The system has always been one of a kind.

Star Wars Galaxies (before they ruined and killed it). It was basically the same thing as here, except you had to pay for upkeep, rather than refreshing, which i think is a good idea. That way, if you just logged on to upkeep your house, it would cost you. It made real estate more balanced.

Balance/Fairness is one thing.

Driving up a real-estate market based on who got their first and can hold onto it the longest is another...

I prefer the latter, it increases property value substantially and in shorter time. (makes things far more interesting)

That's just my opinion of course...

Asherons Call shoulda been #1, and DAoC #2. UO shouldn't have made the list because it's too epic to need reshaping.

Well as the article was saying. UO has an awesome system that not alot of other games have.

The only thing that is needed would be a *Legitimate* graphics update. None of this from 2D to 2.5-D crap. I mean of the list, UO is the oldest & its long past due for a face lift, as long as it's don't correctly.

I came here to say this. Perhaps a different game borrowing heavily from UO's ideas would be cool but UO itself is probably best left alone, 2d graphics and all.

AC would be great if they somehow kept the original combat system, which iirc was created accidentally due to the magic system and the melee combat system being worked on at different times or by different people, something like that. The spell system rocked and the dodgable, deadly projectiles made large battles simply awesome. Combat in other later games was...rigid, which could be fun (daoc) but many other times it felt to restrictive.

AC was fukin' epic. Nothing beat run casting and missile dodging. Awesome pvp, loved it.

The problem with the housing system in SWG was that if you paid for upkeep on an unbalanced economy you would dump 1mil on your house and have up for months. I remember I went back and played in june on a free trial and it was just empty abandoned houses. Oh how I miss that game though. SWTOR soon :)

Yeah, It looks promising, but I hear it's the same old MMO in that you can only pick from handful of pre-set classes the only PvP is Faction based pvp. It's looks pretty cookie-cutter, (barring no amazing features kept under their hats.)

I could almost be okay with that if they kept it in tradition with the Kotor games. I mean keep the d20 system stat wise and skills and such. I know combat would have to be tweaked but if it had the same system as the previous games I'd be okay. I'm also a huge star wars nerd so I'll end up playing it regardless of the bad. Thats what I did with SWG.
