I think yours is a short-term perspective, for a veteran player relatively skilled in playing a bard...not that there's anything wrong with that.
You still need to macro music, and, eventhough possible, it is tougher for a new player; who at the very least has been out of the game 10 years, if not completely new to it; to provoke anything bigger than a skeleton with 50 provo and less than GM music

50 prov/50 magery, macro gm music in a few hours. you can make a fair penny at the GY or covetous, it just takes longer. when i started here, i initially gained my money from the GY/harpies while i trained wep skill. i made a good 20k at harpies in a few hours, which was enough to begin magery training
doesnt matter so much if you fail prov 50% of the time, there's only a 5 second wait on fail and you can easily avoid being hit by harpies. train a weapon skill there while you bard, stuff will die faster and you can always drop it later. mana regen is not that important on a bard, i rarely even use spells unless i'm at tera keep. i'm not saying don't use med, i'm just saying it will gm anyway, it's not an expensive skill

thank you for the great advice, working on building stats as Pirul suggested.
