I'm not one to jump into heated discussions, but to answer your question: it's almost perfectly synonomous with insider trading. Clearly anyone with gf items can dump them on the market (e.g. insider knowledge) and the "outsiders" who don't have the knowledge overpay because they pay full market price.

I'm not questioning the merits of staff discussing upcoming patches on irc, or the veracity of the information itself. I'm just addressing that particular question.

hehe, sure you do not know how such things can give someone an edge: if one player who knows sells his gf stuff to some player who doesn't at a nice price... well, its all information, bro. right?

but well, actually it was not my intention to prove you wrong or someone else right. and i have no gf blessed trammel that i'd have to say goodbye to, anyway.

i am just saying that (imo) vent is a terrible way to spread such information. generally speaking: if a patch like this is comming, everybody should find out about it at the same time. even if someone ask beforhand.

Regardless Pre/Post patch blessed black sandals are still desirable items and are worth 400k to 800k regardless of an impending patch. Given that Matron has been around forever and probably has a bank full of pre patch items it makes perfect sense for her to sell them now that there are rumblings of an incoming patch.
