PLEASE put the events back in... I don't care if there are rewards are not, but they'd be a lot of fun. As long as we can see results on the website, I'd be happy.

It's a bit unfortunate for newer players, you guys will never get to experience the entertainment that capture the flag and other events provided using the T2A mechanics on this shard.

Can an administrator post in this thread and answer the following question. In the foreseeable future, will events ever make a comeback?

It's a video game, if there is reward or not, its still pixels, with that said, the events must come back with trophies/silver for those that rise to the occasion....

I played here briefly on UOT2A about 3 years ago. Me and a few friends switched over from another server, farmed a tower and 7xed some chars then due to my personal situation changing I had to quit fairly quickly.

The trophy/silver rewards system to me was one of the most attractive features of the server. Of course I loved the t2a UO but the 100% era accuracy I can take or leave tbh. I had it all planned out, what items I wanted to work towards in the silver reward system and while I was away found myself frequently daydreaming the day I was going to come back and win my way to these rewards. I came back to find the system shut off entirely. I played for a couple of weeks alone and didn't really see any long term goals so I moved servers. Now I'm not one to hop servers every couple of months. I like finding a server and working towards end game goals and riches etc etc, pixel crack, whatever the case may be. Every succesful game out there these days has end game rewards for pvp/pve. It has a treadmill to keep people running with goals in sight. The only problem is none of these games are UO. I can't at the same time pk randomly, build a house, craft and start a player vendor etc so they eventually fail to me in comparison but the fact is still there. They are successful and it's the constant want to get shiny things that makes them this way.

So the complaint here is that "but tourneys are no risk and silver is worth 10k a pop" That's bullshit. 1 silver is worth 1 silver. If people want to go and spend 10k a pop because they have too much in game gold to aquire silver in another manner rather than earning it themselves then that's their choice. But 1 silver is worth 1 silver.

Everyone in game has the ability to join tourneys/ctfs/whatever and work for these silver coins if they dont want to put up gold to buy them. Why limit the possibilities of things to work towards. It's not creating new gold in the system and flooding the market, fair enough the tourneys may have also come with cash prizes but hell, remove them if that's a problem, or make every tourney have an entry fee if you want gold prizes. If you really wanna harp at the fact that not everyone wants to join tourneys or ctf games to earn silver then shit, introduce silver coins as rare spawns from mobs in dungeons, or run more pvp events with silver rewards. I really just don't see why people hate on this system so hard unless it's "I found it hard to aquire them and don't really want the items that badly so why should anyone else get them"






Anyway. The main reason I posted all this is because yeah, I loved the system. I came back to find it gone and didn't really want to just farm endless gold on this server. I found the world pvp a bit lacking for my liking on this server back then. From memory it went a little along the lines of me and a friend would run around trying to find action. We would scout different places, I'd run into two people and they would start dropping on me. My friend would recall in and they would both hit recall. Not many people stuck around for even fights and recall was too easy to hit at any time. The tourney system is something that would have kept me around because it was unique. I find myself wanting to play this server again because a couple of friends have joined up. But I want something to work towards. I hope you reconsider the tourney/silver system in some way shape or form.

New here, but I'd be down for having a variety of automated events with no reward just to add some entertainment. In my experience on other servers the aftermath of events always brought at least a solid 1-2 hours of some nice post-event field fights. If you're going to have a free use event then don't have a reward. It should all be for fun anyway...at least IMO. Have a different event each day or something; would be nice.

Very much false. I recently got 100 silver...and that was without a computer. A good friend got 600. You still can get silver and its rewards, you just have to change the way you do it.

Also, although I enjoyed events thoroughly, the fact that they no longer happen really has no effect on my willingness to play or enjoyment of the game. I actually welcome the increased activity the server seems to be getting.

If they came back, I just wish their frequency was MUCH lower, like once a day, or even once every two days, and no rewards. Get your rewards by playing the game in the real world where you have some risk.

Yeah, I recently risked getting purple potted and losing all the non-blessed stuff I have on my characters by running from the Britain Inn to the Counselor's Guild, to get my 30 silver in glorious battle with Santa, wherein, I said his name and he forfeited, and provided my reward redemption ticket.

My point was you can go out in the real world, farm gold, come back and buy silver from people who got it from santa. THEN you can cash it in for cool prizes.
