There's prolly 10 people that are insanely rich.
Again I don't think it would ever happen but a wipe would be neat, vega can retire as winning at uosa and everyone can start over with new rares new things etc. the best days were the early days

It doesn't bother me that people have neato rares or idoc. It's extremely boring to idoc, so I personally don't care about it. It's easy to get enough gold to operate comfortably, and I get more of a kick out of not using expensive crutches to fight. Wiping the server wouldn't help s in the long run anyway. GM activity and AEs are all we need to supplement our rock solid, mechanically era accurate (as much as possible) home.

Also in for server wipe, would be nice to potentially meet some new friends along the way. A compromise would be to just open a separate shard. Similar to the Test Center or Avatar as we have it. That way those that want a fresh start can do it, and those that don't, can sit and gawk or cry alone on their millions...aka Vega. I think at this point a server wipe needs to be at least in the discussion on how to save this. Maybe make it 5 year...every 5 years this server will wipe clean. That way people know what to expect...ok done rambling...carry on.

The only server wipe I've ever personally experienced resulted in shard death. That's why I am 100% against it.

In my opinion, a server wipe is the ultimate kick in the face to loyal players who have worked hard to get where they are. This isn't aimed at just rich vets, but even to new people...
Imagine you get here, finally get your first 7x character, maybe you got lucky and placed a tower (or bought spent many hours farming to buy one), then a wipe comes. You think this person is going to start over again? I know I wouldn't.
I'd argue that wipes are worse for these people. To some extent, people like starting over in UO and building up their collections, but for those who "just finished doing that" they need to experience a certain span of end-game before the process of rebuilding could be considered fun and interesting vs tedious and frustrating.
A shard wipe essentially sends the message of "We don't care about the time you've invested on Second Age." - It may be just a game, just pixels, but the time spent is real.

Ex-fucking-actly. I can't imagine how these people cry about other people being rich when myself and plenty of others have spent a lot of time acquiring the pixels that we hold so dearly. The idea that someone can't get rich is fallible and surprisingly ignorant. The special part about it is when someone complains that _I_ am rich. I'm one of the youngest active players on this server who has any sort of wealth. If I can do it, so can you. If your goal isn't to be rich, then what's the complaint against rich people? Imbalance? If you don't desire the things you complain about, there's no real consideration for balance.
Abyz: You find IDOCing boring because you have an awful connection and you're terrible at it. Albeit, IDOCing is boring and that's why I hardly do it anymore.

Actually my conn is okay. It's just boring and my concern with pixels beyond regs n kegs is very low.

Possibly now, but the last time you played I remember moving 3 screens per your 1 and you citing a shit connection as your reason for not playing as much.

Good point boom land.
Server wipe would be bad I guess now that I read that it makes more sense as to why

I probably wouldn't quit if the server was wiped, but i fail to see the point aside from petty pixel jealousy. It's SO easy here to start up, level up, make money, find or purchase housing. Aside from taking away someone's cannon or statues or whatever, which IMO is just vindictive, I don't see how a wipe would make UOSA more attractive. To the contrary, the inevitable loss of vets who glue this place together would probably lead to rapid destruction of the shard.

What's the point of a shard wipe? Some players join next year and just demand the same thing. Only occasion I would support a shard wipe if there was some sort of fundamental change in the game's code (which would be unlikely).

Let's not get sidetracked here, my friends!
The huuuuge tidal wave of fun that will slam into uosa once AEs are brought back will do plenty to kick things up a notch.
BRING EM BACK!
BRING EM BACK!
