Afk Killers/Griefers.
Re: Afk Killers/Griefers.
People are probably freaking out cause It's been happening a lot more recently, probably due to the size of the shard growing. Honestly, this is SO easy to macro nowadays with Razor, townkilling is the only thing keeping people in check really.

Re: Afk Killers/Griefers.
It does suck when it happens (new player been here 3/4 days) But I fully accept its the risk i take by macroing, it doesnt make me want to quit, it doesnt even piss me off, afterall i wont have lost anything other than a tambourine, only thing i lost was maybe 3 hours provocation time.
If you enjoy the game it shouldnt matter too much - UO is like Crack - and if someone killing you WHILE YOUR NOT EVEN PLAYING is enough to make you quit theres something seriously wrong with you - either that or you have been babied so much on these other 'shards' (and i use the term loosley) that give you all gm skills and no sense of acomplishment, that you have lost the heart for the game.
On a side note and just to put this place into perpective - my last shard (which i've left due to many problems like too much lagg there now and playerbase falling and GM's trying to "balance" the shard which didnt need doing) took me over a year to GM 7 skills, sure it was a long time, but i grinded, i hunted for the fun of it slowly getting better and better, got PK'd so many times along the way but it was worth it because at the end of it all I sat there with a fab character, lots of gold from hunting constant and some great weps.
SO people complaining they dont gain 2.1 skill in provo cos someone nicked their tamborine or lobbed an explode potion shouldnt be too downhearted! Dont let it get to you, THIS is the beauty of Ultima online - anything goes to an extent, you get jerks, you get nice people, you get everything you could want in an online game whch the likes of WoW will NEVER be able to reproduce.
Suck it up guys and lets play!

Re: Afk Killers/Griefers.
I generally don't like getting involved in these circular rants that vary from actual argument to name calling. However, I have been thinking quite a bit about the nature of the shard and thought I would pitch my two cents in so that I may too be called 'mentally challenged'.
Many people have come the play the era accurate version of T2A for various reasons. Some enjoy the old school PvP, some like noob ganking (these people might also have a real life inferiority complex) and some like that old school PvM, which is me. I didn't like being able to take down a balron on OSI by just standing there with a sword.
By bringing back all of these old features they have brought back the things that I love and hate. I could moan and complain trying to get these things changed, but then I may as well play OSI where I PAY for the right to demand change. The people who have created the T2A server (and done well) have done it for a reason: this is how they, and others, want to play. They just happen to be letting us join, and for free I might add. So you may ask yourself this question: would you rather be para ganked and townkilled on occasion, or pay $20/mo. (or whatever it is) so that you may hide in trammel?
I agree that there must be at least a shred of immaturity to engage in some of these activities, but this is how some people want to play. I would rather they relieve such urges against my pixelated person, than my actual person.

i would rather ban 2 people that contribute nothing to the shard besides griefing over losing one productive player... and they will contribute to many more leaving than just one.

But just think, when your trained you can try to get your revenge, thats what fun about this place!!keuse wrote:i would rather ban 2 people that contribute nothing to the shard besides griefing over losing one productive player... and they will contribute to many more leaving than just one.
Heres a story!!

Re: Afk Killers/Griefers.
that's why you wouldn't run a decent shard in comparison to second age, the staff simply pay no attention to whiners like you, because in two - three weeks max, you'll most likely have quit, if you whine about town killing there will most likely be 200 dozen other things for you to whine about, until either you get your way(ain't gonna happen) or you give up chuck a fit and quit.keuse wrote:i would rather ban 2 people that contribute nothing to the shard besides griefing over losing one productive player... and they will contribute to many more leaving than just one.
The First Player Of UO Second Age.

Re: Afk Killers/Griefers.
well. I got news for all of you. I have been searching for this info since I joined the server Because I never got blown up in town or remember seeing anyone else. Finally the lost patch notes show the evidence.
Patch notes for october 1 1998
Explosion potions no longer set off other explosion potions. We regret that our earlier post seemed to indicate that the explosion potion was changed only at the request of the City of Oasis, without input from other player sources. Reports from the City of Oasis on Sonoma, which was suffering from terrorist bombs during their periodic Fight Nights, and subsequent support from other player commentary brought this issue to our attention. Please note that the explosion potions were never intended to be instant-kill tools. From now on, explosion potions will only detonate themselves.
T2A was released sometime in october. So either way it is 100% era accurate. So to put this to rest i'm sure it will be patched eventually

Re: Afk Killers/Griefers.
I was there when that happened. The night fights were huge, so when a few ppl threw explosion boxes down, it look out at least 20 ppl, probably more. All of their good loot that they were trying to bring to the tournament was taken. Major bs. The event was GM/counselor run/coordinated, but even they couldn't stop the looters. I can't remember if they did a wipe or what, probably not.~|~Damaja wrote:well. I got news for all of you. Re: Afk Killers/Griefers.
I don't think keuse is trying to get anyone banned, or banning town killing.... Think hes just trying to tell people to stop.

Re: Afk Killers/Griefers.
Honestly though, I would fault the event coordinators. Snooping is in game for a reason, you check weaponsa nd potions at the door ^_^brandonsantacruz wrote:I was there when that happened. Re: Afk Killers/Griefers.
The irony of this post is amazing. We have a guy complaining about griefers and how those griefers are driving away players from the shard.
Then he posts this in another topic.

You should be the last person to tell people not to grief. In fact, you should be banned for admitting to what you use to do. What a tool. I'm glad your friend hacked and looted your account. No one deserved it more than you.keuse wrote:I used to subseven/keylog take over accounts back when I was thirteen or so (got banned for it) so I knew what trojans were and figured any trojan = my account was going to be taken over.

Re: Afk Killers/Griefers.
I am not sure how past history has any relevance. Everyone has a history. I believe this is the logic fallacy in which you attack the person instead of the topic...uhg, logic class sucked.ironfistmax wrote:The irony of this post is amazing. Will this topic ever die?
Re: Afk Killers/Griefers.
The stealing of my account lead me to not be playing uo anymore, thus getting me off the addiction while it fed his further with more gold etc, thus ruining his lfie further - definition: karma.ironfistmax wrote:The irony of this post is amazing. Key thing to keep in mind:
I was Thirteen years old.
That was on OSI with thousands of players so I could never damage a shard.
I am now turning 22 next month.
I don't care to elaborate further as to how stupid that point you tried to make is and/or the reasoning behind why you believe I should be banned.
