How could you make a trophy that is worthless? There will always be value for a prize/reward/handout

I think just having a ranking system is good enough

As of now, the trophies are worth X amount of silver, which is used to get rewards. They are bought and sold for about 15k gold per silver point. 1st place gets a 10pt trophy. People were farming the events for silver to fund their playing style.

I am advocating removing the silver value from the trophies and make them just what they are, a trophy with you name on it.

Since events have no risk, and a nice reward, I was against it.

Take away the reward and make it just an event, where you can get a trophy with your name, sounds good to me.

Out of the 70 some odd IPs on the server you gto 10 people saying yes to events. People taking time to post on this thread that has been repeated several times. It would be nice if Derrick or any staff could be willing to try to bring this idea back to the table. I know personally I'd play more if there was the daily events back even without the silver backing the trophy. Survival game was one of my favorites duke it out with cobalt banging on 15+ AWs in a 9 x 9 box. Those kinds of events are impossible to do since you can't get more then one AW in a area since there is only 1 AW. Bag ball was fun too but people were exploiting it loading up the event with multiple accounts. Same with pvp duels people using multiple characters, but who is really ate up about events being here. Rather just removed the reward then hurt the player base by just removing events that were here for a long time. I quit here before because the events were removed and not just fixed. It is what it is I said my piece. I do hope Derrick or Staff cares about the remaining base to bring events back but with no reward.

You're insane if you think a trophy customized with your name wouldn't sell.. regardless of silver value

They wouldn't be considered a resource, though, and their value would be subject to the player's demand for such items. They would not introduce more "gold" into the economy and would only shift gold around amongst players.

Would this then make Events AFK'able like rares? There's essentially a precedent for this...

Sounds like a mess waiting to happen, unfortunately.

It does sound like a mess.. no reward sounds much easier.

It would give the players, that already play, something to do and look forward to. And would only attract new/old players

I don't see a downside.

I have no issue with no reward what so ever. A trophy with someones name is not going to be worth jack squat though lol.......maybe a few hundred gold, but NOT $150k like a 10pt statue.

Bring them back with the fixes......!

If we had soulbound items, it would solve a lot of these issues.

Events = enjoying the mechanics of our era

Something like a ranking system (which we have already in MyUOSA) with no in game reward.

If anything, it will make people interact to practice to get better, and farm mobs to get items if they are allowed in any of the events, etc.. And might solve some of the trash talk by giving people a place to settle things.

Thanx Braden, I also would not pay for someones trophy if it had no silver to back it LOL Dougie Fresh's bag ball trophy from 10/31/12 I bet it would be worth millions!

Events back with no silver backing trophies FTW I second it.

If events were to be brought back without any rewards at all, would they still be interesting for the people who want events back?

I consider my greatest rare(s) to be my CTF win trophies, not only because I was the most handsome, skillful and glorious CTF player that ever lived ever. But because it's a part of history, like having your name etched into part of your house.

I would never sell them, nor would I ever trade them in for silver.

absolutely, its not the rewards so much as an organized, quick, and efficient system of events imo.
