Afk Killers/Griefers.

The irony of this post is amazing. We have a guy complaining about griefers and how those griefers are driving away players from the shard.

Then he posts this in another topic.

I used to subseven/keylog take over accounts back when I was thirteen or so (got banned for it) so I knew what trojans were and figured any trojan = my account was going to be taken over.

You should be the last person to tell people not to grief. In fact, you should be banned for admitting to what you use to do. What a tool. I'm glad your friend hacked and looted your account. No one deserved it more than you.

The stealing of my account lead me to not be playing uo anymore, thus getting me off the addiction while it fed his further with more gold etc, thus ruining his lfie further - definition: karma.

Key thing to keep in mind:
I was Thirteen years old.
That was on OSI with thousands of players so I could never damage a shard.
I am now turning 22 next month.

I don't care to elaborate further as to how stupid that point you tried to make is and/or the reasoning behind why you believe I should be banned.

More then likely the stealing of your account netted him real life money which he used to buy l33t things. Thats what a real life friend of mine did...a guildmate tried to screw him so he hacked the account, looted it all, sold it on ebay for 1500, then quit UO. Lol.

Yeah but lots of 'ex-criminals' and 'ex-bad people' breach their stories. Thats why schools have drug addicts come in and things like that. Sometimes, the best person to fight for a cause is someone who has been there and done that.

This would hold water if his statement was actually happening. The fact is, the complete opposite is happening. The shard has been growing for months and months on end, even before he got here. So his speech about the sky is falling the sky is falling is null and void.

The thing is, taking one persons account and taking all of their loot when UO had a member base of close to a MILLION when the game was New/exciting/nothing else was out there so you stayed and played is not as damaging as afk killing everyone you can find when the pop is at the top 200, there are a lot of other alternatives out there and the game is as old as it is.

I am in no way saying taking over peoples accounts when I was thirteen was okay - but I was thirteen - give me a break. Now I invest a lot of time into generally helping out the people and the community of the shards I play on.

If you haven't completely changed as a person 10 times over since you were 13 I really pity you.

edit: oh and this is not a 'the sky is falling' thread nor do I really care anymore as I am not macroing, but five of the people that I tried to get to join this shard by talking them into how great this shard is have quit here due to afk macro killers.. And these were really stand up guys that would have contributed a LOT more than someone whos only time in game is spent running around killing everyone thats afk.

Max, what he did when he was 13 was extremely shitty and wrong, that was 9 years ago when he was a pre-pubescent punk, it has no bearing on what he does now and should not be held against him.

Keuse, you were killed while afk macroing, get over it. Anyone that would quit because of this should just go play a trammel/item-based shard. Or maybe we should ban dungeon newbie killers too?

Death and stealing are an integral part of the game, a shard's downfall--at least in fun--is trammel and insurance!
