This topic is clearly not going to turn into something that's appropriate for this forum, but there are multiple IRC channels in which you can say whatever you want; and as far as the forums, I don't think it's be a good idea for us only to be listed on the "Adults Only Google"

Tbh, I've though about putting an age requirement in the IRC channel, but more to keep the childishness off it, not to introduce more.

Age req for iirc would be nice. I'm not trying to cause trouble, I was just thinking most of us are adults, who play this game leisurely with other adults. It's nice to just to be ourselves. Not saying excessive immaturity is needed, but it's nice to be able to enjoy an adult conversation with some of the other guys here and not worry about offending someone with an abject curse word or something beyond the subject matter appropriate for kids.

When you spend like 5 hours a day logged into the game, and iirc, it's nice to shoot the bull with the other people doing the same. Or tell some racists/dead baby jokes every now and then.

Out of curiosity, just how would you go about putting an age requirement on IRC..? It's not like you can check each person's ID who logs in, and it's pretty simple to just make an age up..

go to some 18 and over site, any one. a box pops up that says "hey, bros, to view this site you gotta be 18, check here and go right ahead if so. if not, we're not looking so....."

an age req would just be something in the rules or something that let people know that content could be of adult nature.
same deal here. after that it's on the end user. that person, child or adult, has agreed to the content.

if like syntax says is true and we don't have many non-adults in iirc, it should be an almost non-issue. and it would kinda open things up so that you don't get in trouble for locker room talk in iirc.

Google will catch those words from their spider and end up listing this site into the adults section potentially limiting the amount of hits to the web site and could very well impact new people from joining his shard...

How many times does he have to say this for you to understand it?

I don't give a crap about something stupid as a curse word. However, when it could limit the access to this website and possibly hurt the web site hit count it only hurts the players of this shard in the end.
