I have noticed a lack of Order vs Chaos here. Any reason for that? That's one thing I always enjoyed watching was OvC town battles. Can't say I've seen a single one since coming to the shard.

Probably because there is a chance a pk would have to fight one on one against someone else who was built for PvP

there wasnt on OSI either.

reason O/C isnt popular here is because it currently isnt working properly. search on the forums, you will find a thread about some of the future changes that will be made to O/C. i think after these go in, it will get popular again. i also miss the large town battles.

I don't think that is it. Besides, having been heavily involved in O/C on Chessy, the changes being talked about actually will detract from it. It was stupid to have all those green names for other guilds pop up because they were in the same alighnment. And dropping reds out of O/C will just make the players here start a new stone.

The real reason why there isn't any town fighting is because:

1) Most players here only know how to use magery to fight and it's not allowed in town.
2) It's too easy to get resist

The #2 reason is why town fighting was popular on OSI. One could train up a rather tough player in town without having to cast, or have cast, one silly spell. As long as you stayed in town, that character was a god.

And, for anyone looking to join a true towine guild just let me know, I started a new guild up last week called "TWN". If you'd like to join or make a real townie and fight, just let me know and lets do it.

*SLAPS FOREHEAD*

Shoulda' had a V8!

Edit: I still do remember O/C being more active on OSI. Maybe this was due to more there being more dexers than 7x Tank mages back then. If fact I saw mainly melee fights back then because I remember wanting a order/chaos shield sooooo bad for my newbie warrior.

Town battles rarely happen unless its a bunch of hally mages who are gonna para spam and hally sync a single target, or its dexxer vs dexxer.

The O/C cycle goes something like this:

1. Large pvp guild <X> decides to change from O -> C.
2. Some rival guilds decide "oh shit we don't want to pvp against <X> guild, we'll switch to C, too, but say its due to lack of C"
3. Small rival guilds say "fuck so many C, can't go anywhere without 5v2, we're switchin to C, too."
4. O/C dwindles down to many versus few
5. Large pvp guild <x> notices lack of O, decides to change back to O.
6. Repeat cycle

Back in the day there was another viable tactic for a mage in town.
Summon a bunch of daemons and let them tear it up.
Back then the daemon did a lot of physical damage, much like an ogre lord.

That, and there were a lot more fighters than there are here.
