This Christmas, last Christmas for gifts...
For the sake of Era Accuracy please make this Christmas the last that gifts are given out. This is the second Christmas on the shard and T2A spanned only two Christmas'.

I really don't think there were many events in t2a really in the first place, so by your logic we should just go pvp and do nothing else until we become UO:R. When is that btw?poogoblin wrote:For the sake of Era Accuracy please make this Christmas the last that gifts are given out. Re: This Christmas, last Christmas for gifts...
Sorry, I was simply just "paying forward" the same "era accruacy" cries in the CUB thread. I just seem confused as to why this statement works for some thing but not others.
Re: This Christmas, last Christmas for gifts...
You guys are a picky bunch. We're not replicating every single event that has ever happened at the exact time it happened during t2a, and the shard isn't going to magically disappear once it's been around longer than the t2a era was.
If we're around for more than the next christmas, there will probably be events. We're not just going to drop everything and try not to come up with ways to entertain our players just because t2a only had two christmases or whatever. We emulate the t2a feel and ruleset, we're not a direct clone running concurrently with the timeline and events of the t2a era.

Of course we are a picky bunch, nevermore. We are all striving for EXACT replication, when we are changes small things such as [invlunerable] tags etc. I think we all become overanalytical.
I feel it is a royal shame that the majority of the player base (myself included) will have missed CUB as it was a nicely ingrained part of nearly everyones T2A history. The only thing I kept taking from the thread was "There was one, anymore would be era-inaccurate", and the comment used in this context but not for everything "linear" during the timeframe just doesn't make sense to me, I guess.

Re: This Christmas, last Christmas for gifts...
I don't believe any staff were in the thread saying the reason that there wouldn't be another was era-inaccuracy. If there were, that's not the reason why we deemed there wouldn't be one when talking among each other. We're going to make an official post on our official stance regarding the CUB soon. I'm sorry that you missed it, I really do believe we held it WAY too soon in the shard's development, even if it fit the time frame or whatever. But there will be other events and other things you will experience. Just because we're a t2a era shard doesn't mean we're limited to only events that happened in t2a, we're perfectly fine with coming up with new Second Age events for everyone to enjoy, and I'm sure we will for a while to come.
And relax a little, it's just a game. I get that we're all here to have an accurate t2a shard, but it's not the end of the world if some things are a little off.

It was always a complaint all the way past UO:R that we never got CUB again while greedy fudge heads horded and sold for millions. They were running a subscription service and not giving anyone the same crap others got.
I assume it's a different reason here like " i don't want to code it differently to fix issues with abuse, so we aren't going to do it again".

With how much time Derrick puts into coding you should know it'd never be an issue like that. Derrick has literally coded or recoded almost everything in game and puts HUGE amounts of efforts into making anything he can possible for the shard.

I was simply stating that maybe it isn't worth the effort to re code something that didn't fulfill it's actual purpose. Are you following me around?

Re: This Christmas, last Christmas for gifts...
Any event where some clothing bless deeds (buyable at around 50k due to the "new player ticket sytem" (also era accurate) during our "time frame" of just pre UOR) would make a lot of people happy.
There was recently an NPC gypsie with a hair dye for over a million gold, that just isnt realistic.
Gold sicks are fine, but we need to be able to get "charecter deco" items more reasonably then paying the 3 people that exploited cub a bajillion gold for it.
without trohpies on DD and CTF, any comments about getting them with trophies are also moot.

Re: This Christmas, last Christmas for gifts...
Given I haven't been here but for a few months. I just hope some of the events that take place don't require you to be on during a certain time like many of the ongoing events.
Part of the appeal of CUB was being able to jump on when I had the time. I guess I'd like to see more events that don't require one to be on at a certain time, as I and many others lead fairly busy lives.
You're also correct Never, no admin ever said it was an "era-accuracy" issue. That is my fault for assuming after listening to the players who were biased against the idea.

This is quite a ridiculous statement.Cutpurse wrote:Character deco?

Clothing Bless Deeds are much different than neon cloth and AoS shrouds.
