Santa's hat as a new game item.
Santa's hat as a new game item.
I dont know how implementing items into the game works but I think it would be cool to have santa hats for Christmas.

Re: Santa's hat as a new game item.
not era accurate
Re: Santa's hat as a new game item.
There are alot of items on this shard that were not on UO and there are items that are more rare and less rare than on UO so I dont see how the fact that its not eara accurate could even be an issue here. I do know it would be bad ass though.

What is a "Santa's Hat"? Go get a wizard cap and dye it red!

Maybe they will give me one for my 500 points then it would be a true rare
. Anyways it was just a thought and stockings would be another cool one to have.

Re: Santa's hat as a new game item.
i could be wrong but i think the items they give out for holidays and stuff are era accurate with items that were given out on osi... i dont think derrick takes requests
Re: Santa's hat as a new game item.
Were they given out on reindeer? I know Christmas trees were more reare on UO then on this server. But thats not what I am talking about. There are only 10 ish red orc helms on this server and I dont think there were any on UO and the monster statues are after t2a if I remember right and we didnt have points to get rares or have tourny's to get those points. there are tons of examples of stuff thats not t2a accurate on this server. That is not a bad thing in its self but why cant we make request on things like that being its not breaking what they are already doing?
Re: Santa's hat as a new game item.
Monster statues were originally CUB items, they were much sought after at IDOC's. They later became widespread and devalued (well, which on OSI servers meant 'only worth a million') when they were introduced again when vet rewards came in during UO:R. Especially since when vet rewards initially went live it was bugged and some accounts got double or even triple the reward choices so the market got really flooded. Of my 5 accounts at the time, my 2 oldest, pre-t2a/early t2a accounts I had gotten when a guildie quit, both got double.
As far as santa hats go...would be preferable to alot of the holiday items that went into game in later years on production shards. Those snowmen, snowflakes, etc looked really outta whack for UO.

Were spam and champagne glasses era accurate? Cause I got both in my UOSA anniversary bag....
Not that I remember, since I was barely aware of what rares were when I played OSI, but they seem to be something that is unique to here.

Champagne glasses were on OSI but they were called champagne flutes. About same rarity/value as they are here tbh.

Spam was an Xmas gift during t2a, possibly even sooner. They were already in and done before I started in 99. Champagne flutes were a valentines day item dating to the t2a era, most likely 99, as 2000 v-day gifts didnt include them, just the pink champagne. I had kind of a collectors obsession with champagne flutes and green mugs, I had dozens of both for no apparent reason, they were great deco items.

I dont remember pigskins in t2a
Looks like a trammel stone but says a pigskin
Or full blood pentagrams
Cant remember where marble tables came from
or a sandstone table..
Dont remember special hued masks being there either
BUT
The old gift system was my favorite matching your ticket numbers with others then you get a choice of like a black dye, ranger armor piece(Random), hair restyle, and a few other things I cant remember.. Snow?

YELL!!!! Lol I hope that was loud enough
. I love the rares and stuff we have on this server and will try to collect 1 of everything possible. So I am greatfull that UOSA does so much for us in givig us such a variaty of stuff to try and collect. I dont want to cause problems asking to have something put in the game that wasnt there in t2a. I just thought it would be cool as I think they would look good and help your Christmas theme and would be 1 more thing for me to collect
.

Re: Santa's hat as a new game item.
i like the idea of the hat and stockings, and agree w/ the era accuracy.. theres alot of stuff thats not "era accurate" rare wise... it wont hurt anything, so why not!
