Are there still spots to place Lrg Brick Houses?

Post by uofuntime »

Hi there! I've been saving up money for a house for quite some time. I've done runs in the wilderness but can't find land large enough for a large brick house, 2 story, or large patio. Plenty of places for small houses though.

Are there still spots to place homes larger than a small house? If so, where (general location). It seems like there are many places that *almost* fits a large house but can't =(

The spots are out there. Personally I'd suggest you shoot for an L-shape as they are the easiest ones to squeeze in places. Just grab a deed and go looking.

I started in December. Since then have placed a large brick and tower. The tower is placed on Ice Isle, the Large Brick in a clearing just East of Yew.

Just grab a deed and run around, eventually you will find a spot :)

Thanks everyone for the replies! I guess I should look harder. I've heard there are still places for large homes out there, just gotta know where to look. =)

Oh by the way, I thought the L shaped houses take the same plot size as a large house. Something like 14x14? guess I was wrong. Read that on UOguide, perhaps that's the case in official servers. It's nice to be able to squeeze in between!

The Brick and Patio are both 14x14 square, the L-shape, while technically in the 14x14 class, has the L-shaped footprint that makes it easier to squeeze into areas that an obstruction (trees, rocks, uneven terrain, shoreline, etc) would prohibit a square footprint from fitting. The L is still 14x14 on its south and west sides, but only like 8-9 tiles on the north and east sides enabling you to "wrap it around" a tree/whatever that would block a brick or patio. Incidentally, the L does have more storage than the other 2 designs, 5 secures as opposed to 4, and I believe a few more lockdowns.

they are not!! >.<

hehe just kidding. I like them too. However I dislike the wall textures and just wished it L shaped another way. Sort of like the "villa", with the empty space in the front.

Just out of curiosity. I know this server strives for era accuracy but are they averse to adding things that are in the spirit of the era and wouldn't break gameplay?

Such as new house designs?
