Pvp suggestion

Post by Marcaeus »

I don't care if I get flamed, but I'm boggled why this is still here. You should just remove all pvp tournaments from this server. Why? It simply forces people to field pvp. There never was custom tournaments on osi anyways.

failure
[14:17] <UOSAPlayer4056> cr3w guild is a joke. Ran by staff members, multi client pking, this shards a joke and a half.

I had a better suggestion in another thread in Discussion.

Removing PvP events will not "force" players to go on the field. It will only further encourage players to guard-line "hug" and continue to fear losing their items.

You honestly think people sit around, all day long and wait for the very few PvP events, that last 30-45 minutes tops to PvP? You are clearly mistaken.

Yep. Take away the cage, and people will venture out.

Hit the search option and review the million other posts about events.

The answer is a flat out no and it will never happen. Follow my previous instructions if you want to know why this is the case.

You are only wasting bandwidth by further making a post about an issue that has been settled time after time already.

So, if this is supposed to be an "accurate" t2a server, then why are we doing something that is custom, that was never "accurate".

All the people that you 'only see' at automated pvp events, arent going to start pvping if the events stop :P
They just arent going to pvp at all as its not why those people play the game. Those events have pulled people from fishing, tmap hunting, farming, crafting, socializing etc and brought them to play the game in a way they ordinarily would not have been playing.

If anything pvp events are a good way to introduce people who dont pvp into pvp, maybe youl get some more opponents from it.

Heres an example I thought I would throw in.

A day in jonnys life with automated pvp events:
Johny the fisherman is out fishing and fighting sea serpents. He does an mib and sells his items off his vendor. event message!! johny recalls and participates in said pvp event. After the event he goes back to fishing.

A day in jonnys likfe without automated pvp events:
Johny the fisherman is out fishing and fighting sea serpents. He does an mib and sells his items off his vendor.

Is the example clear?

Events are a policy and not a mechanic of how UO works.

UOSA Policy allows Events, it has nothing to do with accuracy of the mechanics during 1999.

Yes. There was gm apperances for events, but no pvp tournaments, or auto daily scheduled tournaments. Pvp was strictly raiding guild houses, and towns. This server is sitting in tournaments watching dice rolls, and reds killing newbs farming in dungeons, because there is no field pvp. Ask yourself why there is no field pvp.

I find plenty of field pvp.

You won't find field pvp on these boards.

Try logging on?
