So what's the deal with this server?
What's the basic info needed to know as far as features and shit like that? I've noticed alot of this shard is really similar to Divinity so I'm mainly looking for the differences.
Merchant and pirate were for a long period one and the same person. Even today mercantile morality is really nothing but a refinement of piratical morality.

Uhhm, I haven't played Divinity in a real long time but the main difference I know of -- we have mounts, divinity doesn't. I dont remember enjoying pvp or pvm on divinity myself, but so far here I have fun doing everything.
Re: So what's the deal with this server?
Skill gain is harder. However macroing really eliminates any difficulty in that department anyways. Skill gain is still quite a bit slower than Div. You won't be 7xpvping in a week here.
Basic features are kept as close to 1999' UO as the staff can get them. Oh, yes. the staff. BEST STAFF EVER. Seriously these guys listen and care.
The community itself is richer than Div's in my opinion.
Also, i saw your reply in the guild recruitment section. I don't know what kind of pirate recruits you can get here, but its worth your guilds time to move here. Also, even if you come alone people (generally) don't hate on RP. Unless you are at a CTF event... our events rock too.
Give it a shot. All you have to lose is time on Divinity

This server is fairly strict T2A rule set. Most servers claim they are 'how UO was' but they deviate big time. Chances are, if something isn't how it was in T2A the staff will implement it the way it was.
Re: So what's the deal with this server?
the 'deal' is..
-the majority of people on this shard are good people with good intentions and will help you out (unlike divniity where all the nice people have left and all assholes remain)
- housing prices reflect t2a - not overpriced like 2 million gps for a keep like divinity has
- Events that are scripted every couple of hours and thus we dont need GM's to be on to have them set up.
- Secure chests for houses (1 for small, 2 for big, etc)
- 3 accounts max instead of 4.
- No tent deeds taking up space.
-LOTS of housing spots in good locations still (Vesper strip still has locations)
- An active and growing RP community.
Seers and GM's that CARE about the server and help adding to the community instead of telling everyone off like on divinity.
-you cant get your way into the economy by donating RL money (which means more people in dungeons, more player interaction, etc) So the economy is stable.
-skill gain is slow so it gives you a sense of accomplishment when you GM somethnig plus everyone is not macronig 24-7 and actually is playing the game regardless if they have 50 of each skill or gm.
- Mounts
- Leather AR reduces mana regen
- Meditation is super easy to GM (I gmed med after only gaining from 50-60 in magery)
- Accurate stamina loss when hit and have low hp.
- Explosion potions stack
- Daemons follow super fast if you attack someone with them.
- Statloss for pks but murder counts remove after 8 hours (Might be changed) (so you dont get griefed nonstop)
- Bounty system if you kill a pk you get the bounty.
- Not that many crafters and the ones that do have crafters keep their vendorshops well stocked and you dont have to run all over to find something.
I have logged into divinity for a half hour in the last month since playing this shard ( i dont play often but still)
this is the closest you will get to t2a.

Since when? I tire of redlining people then chasing them across the server.\keuse wrote:the 'deal' is..

But I know staff is working on correct stamina fixes
Re: So what's the deal with this server?
That's stamina loss on damage, not on running. Stamina loss when running is coming soon. Mounts too.Kylock wrote:Since when? I tire of redlining people then chasing them across the server.\keuse wrote:the 'deal' is..

Re: So what's the deal with this server?
The five biggest differences on this shard for mage PVP are:
1. Can't equip while casting (this is killing me, I know it's accurate I'm just saying)
2. Mounts.
3. Recast delays.
4. They are about to change the way spell disruption works. Harm I guess is supposed to still disrupt 6th circle but I guess we won't know until it's on tc. ma doesn't disrupt if it's resisted here but does on Div. Not sure if ma has a damage delay here like it does on div, just started PVPing.
5. Lightning has no damage delay here.

Re: So what's the deal with this server?
There's a slight delay on magic arrow, but it's tiny-tiny. Still faster than harm, but with the resist chance you're unlikely to see much ma spam here.
For interrupts, you'll need to either cast harm or a debuff.
I don't RP, but that community does seem to be picking up quite a bit. I'm sure you'll be able to find some recruits. The orcs have been flourishing it seems.
