Sharing items between characters

Hello and pleased to be here!

I have a question, although it might be a reduntant one I was unable to locate an answer easily... this is my first time playing UO in like, 5 years, so I am rusty to incredible degrees.

What method can new players use to share items between their characters? I'm trying to plan my 7 characters ahead of time, I have a thing about planning ahead of time, and it involves different characters having mining+lumberjacking and their respective trades.

Simplest way is to use a house to drop items off and swap about. If you look at some of the stickies at the top of this forum there are a few people offering new players free use of a small house till they get on their feet.

Alternatively you can run two or three clients at once and pass items between characters.

Or you can use the old fashioned way and find a quiet room at an inn to drop a bag off at for your next char to grab (hopefully before someone else does).

Where'd you get this idea from? You can have 5 characters per account and up to three accounts per IP here.

well, since you can log in to 3 accounts at the same time, just have your characters trade with each other.

if I want to transfer items between chars of the same account, I sometimes just drop the item on the floor of the inn. log out then in with the other char. Never had someone come and take the items but still be careful! =)

Thanks for replies! Sometimes, after a very long absence from a game like UO, even the simplest tasks can take ages to remember. I spent around five minutes trying to remember how to talk to vendors!

It's all coming back slowly. In regards to the question about 7 characters, I have a slight perfectionist compulsion, I enjoy myself better in games if I set out with a plan ahead of time. So I roughly placed skills among characters until I had about every type of character I desired, and every skill I wished access to counted for. It turned out to be 7, which is lucky since I have a slight superstition regarding numbers and 7 is a great one.

All in all, looking forward to being a part of this world. Very impressed so far, seems a tightly run shard and I love the apparant diversity of players. Seen a sampling of various types of PKers running around, but also met incredibly nice people who've offered assistance. Kudos!
