The Clean Up Brit Campaign
The Clean Up Brit Campaign
Maybe this has been discussed before, maybe it hasn't but it just came to me as a random thought. Does anyone remember as a way to stop hoarding and get items recycling back into the game and promote more PVM and increasing PVP in the form of murderers as well as treasure hunting and SOS fishing, they introduced the Clean Up Brit Campaign. They made trash barrels give points for objects deposited and the better the magic properties of the item the more points it gave. With these points clothing bless deeds were available for large amounts as well as neon hair dyes and even item bless deeds if I remember correctly.
With this blessed clothing could actually be broken.

[14:17] <UOSAPlayer4056> cr3w guild is a joke. Ran by staff members, multi client pking, this shards a joke and a half.

Why not? Derrick has talked about long save times and the # of items currently ingame. It makes sense that we'd have another one somewhere down the road...Sandro wrote:This already happened once and wont happen again.

Re: The Clean Up Brit Campaign
Becauce the item count on the server actually skyrocketed after CUB. People were hoarding for the next one. If there are more CUBs it will just encourage hoarding.

Re: The Clean Up Brit Campaign
People still hoard regardless.......the item count since I started in Jan 2010 has gone form 1.8-1.9 million to 5.2 million!!! While population #'s has remained the same or even dipped a little.
If not CUB, then I say implement item decay in houses for non-locked down items.....that should fix it.

Re: The Clean Up Brit Campaign
are the items stocked in bank counting in the total number of items ?
another clean up brit campaign would be devastating indeed for the shard

I will quit. Straight up. Deco in UO is my first love, and I seriously don't want to play on a shard where I can't do it.Brules wrote: If not CUB, then I say implement item decay in houses for non-locked down items.....that should fix it.

You don't lock down the stuff you decorate with?SJane3384 wrote:I will quit. Straight up. Re: The Clean Up Brit Campaign
Not all. The stuff I need to stay in a certain position, or stairs, yes. Everything else just sits. Otherwise, houses would be incredibly bare as there are very few lockdowns overall.

CUB was originalyl dsigned on OSI to be part of the transition between the housing phases.
As weve seen by the prior CUB's impact it isnt realistic/functional to do another CUB without moving forward in the housing phases. Which is not in the t2a time frame target thing

Re: The Clean Up Brit Campaign
Save times are only like nine seconds or so, is a CUB even needed?

Re: The Clean Up Brit Campaign
Does kinda suck, being a late joiner on UOSA. It's like the vets can just sit around with their thumb up their arse and if they need any gold all they need to do is post "selling neonz i horded for 2 years, 40 mills lol, need sum more castles" while the newer players actually have to farm/play the game for ridiculous amount of hours to afford ANYTHING in the market, that is controlled entirely by vets.
It WOULD be nice to have another CuB for the benefit of those who haven't played this shard for 1-2 years, but the vets would cry foul just because they horde the items and sell them for a few mill a piece. Which is ridiculous, if the market was re-filled with these items vets wouldn't be able to get away with this shit.
