I had Windows XP and played on this shard for about a week, and never had "Client Crashes" Now that I have Vista, I receive "Client Crashes" very often. I went about 7-8 hours without one, then around 8-9pm I experienced about 7 "Client Crashes" within a 30min period.
I cannot stand this, and am considering going back to XP. Does anyone have a solution?
This only solidifies the rumor that Windows Vista is complete GARBAGE! Dont be fooled by the Windows Mojave commercials, It's a LIE!

The only recommendations I've got are make sure you're patched up to 5.0.x.x and run as administrator

Music was my problem, now that it is disabled I am running without problem in vista.Derrick wrote:

Also Try turning off UAC Security in Vista > MSCONFIG. It seems to be the culprit in many known vista bugs.
To do so.
1. Goto Startmenu and launch "Run"
2. Type "MSCONFIG" ( No Quotes)
3. Click the Tools Tab.
4. Scroll Down to "Disable UAC"
5. Highlight it and click the "Launch" button on the bottom right.
You will get windows balloons telling you that it is disabled.
Also try right clicking client.exe and the razor client > click properties > Click Compatibility Tab > lastly select "Windows XP(SP2)" from the drop down box and click on OK

Re: Windows XP vs Vista
I haven't done this yet, as I an unsure of what exactly it will do. I have turned off he music, and rarely get a client crash. I have experienced some lag lately, and its a brand new computer with great a internet provider. I don't know why this is happening. I have also turned off the weather, to prevent in game lag.
Can you explain to me if I followed your instructions what it would do to my computer?
Thank you,

Turning off UAC will just allow your programs to have all access rather than checking if your user account has permission to use a file. UAC is new to vista.. XP does not even use it. So basically you would have "kind of" the same security scheme as XP. Vista Security is still slightly better.
