colored armor

Post by Quin the Wretch »

You used to be able to buy different colored plate/chain/ring armor from the blacksmiths. Not a big deal but it was just a little tidbit that I noticed isn't here. It seemed not every blacksmith/ armorer carried them, and it if they did they usually only carried one or two pieces of a set. The colors were all greyish hues. People used to refer to it as coal armor. The darkest was not quite as black as shadow. There were quite a few different tones. occasionally you would see someone with a full set. Not sure if anyone remembers that. I'd post a screen if i had had the sense to take one back then. I think it was a holdover from dread days?

I believe that this was found to be before the timeframe here, so they added them in for a day or two so all the "rares-collectors" could buy them up and then promptly discontinued.

I do remember this from t2a sometime, and I seem to remember a morning where all of the trammelest of the trammel awaited server up with vendor buy macros on call.

Just find a Player vendor there is tons around any area and most have different color armor going rate I think is about 1000 to 2000 gold for a full set. I'm trying to get my Blacksmith up to 100 so I can just make my own. LOL I found the color does nothing, I thought some were to have different properties. To help with defence against different types of Magic attacks, but they dont add any protection that I found so far. Unless Im mistaken. I use to played UOR so it might have been just that era or Im totally lossing it. :-)

The different colours all offer the same performance Victor, it's purely a visual difference. Also the OP is referring to more shades/colours that players can't craft.
