I'd like to hear your Medi Dexxer builds/guides please.
I'm still new to the PvP scene, but been checking to see all the different builds out there. Not sure if pure dexxer was my thing and I do not like (and not good at) the hally mage. After today's 1vs1 and 2vs2 I heard of this new build. Please share your info on it and build ideas. This sounds more my style/build.

check the med warrior,
the med warrior is a little harder to play than the straight warrior and benifits greatly from 1v1 senarios.
with the ability to g-heal and cure one can effectilly get that off in b/n a mage casting spells.
plus there is the abilty to curse and poison your target, or use harm for interupt.
no real use for damage spells.
i personally have choosen swords, for the kat/hally swing, which is timed perfectly for a surprizing hally hit at times.
i find the straight warrior is good for events like DD and CTF, i dont know why i just seem to win more when i play that. maybe because i concentrate more on the game rather than pesky fights. plus the use of pots makes a big diff.
the biggest downfall, is its almost imposible to cast if you are targeted with small spells or melee attack. so choose when you cast carfully, otherwise you are like butter!
hence the reason why in group battles its not that effective. but if you have a good team mate who looks out for you, and you for them, you should be ok.

i play a med/macer and enjoy it. i'm good in every scenario except a 1v1 fight against a warrior. especially if they are wearing plate. i rarely wear armor b/c i need mana to regen faster. i should wear leather, but normally dont.
it's tough to play sometimes, but you just have to get used to it. change you int around. some people have their stats at 100 str 100 dex 25 mana. i have more mana & less dex, i keep 100 str. i use spells a lot in events. an extra ebolt on somebody is always good in my opinion. gheals are nice with enough mana to spam miniheals or cure. i always try to get my bandaid to heal, not cure.
FYI i suck at pvp, but i know this class can work well. ive seen it done. i might lack the skillz =\

Teknix,
Your template is the exact build I ran with 11 years ago. It works great, and also can be a useful 1 vs 1 build.
I have chosen to switch magery, and meditation out for hiding, and archery. I always wanted to fool around with archery, to see how useful it is, if I find that it is not working for me, then I'll switch to my old template.
The only downfall to my template is that i have to run everywhere I want to go. Magery is a big help when traveling in this game.

having 50-55 mana is very handy. can almost pull off explo explo ebolt.

My hybrid is:
Mace
Tactics
Resist
Magery
Meditation
Heal
Anatomy
100 str 75 dex 50 int
This allows me to cast upto 8th.
I tried it once in competition and I need to hone my tactics. Against pk's in the field it's really powerful.

Thank you for sharing that info! I'm playing around with different ideas on how to build mine, but this definitely seems more my speed.

Re: I'd like to hear your Medi Dexxer builds/guides please.
I just wanted to give my two cents on this somewhat dead thread..
I recently made a hybrid but I did it slightly different than what's been said so far.
Mace 100
Tactics 100
Anatomy 100
Resist 100
Magery 90
Healing 90
Eval 60
Med 60
I chose Macing mainly because I want them to be constantly desperate for stamina, pot chugger or not. It's not the popular option but I personally dislike cookie cutter Fencing dexxers and this build is not one of them
I chose to deduct just 10 each from Magery and Healing because they aren't as vital as doing maximum melee damage.. but in doing this, I have have room for 60 Eval and Med for good Ebolt(s)/Lightning(s) and some decent passive mana regen, and if you wear leather you can still meditate fairly easily - although I've dabbled with the idea to increase Eval to 80 and reduce Med to 40 but I worry this will make having Med pretty much pointless, so 60/60 it is for now.
The main thing with this build is to do as much punch you can with the melee side of things and just having the means to cast spells when necessary - to stay alive, or to finish off peeps with a precasted ebolt or lightning. So in keeping with that tradition I also went with slightly less int than most people.
100 Str
85 Dex
40 Int
I'm curious to hear your opinions.

I've been playing these 2 hybrids across many shards in the past 5 years. During the actual t2a era I played a straight warrior and a tank mage. I find these hybrids to be a lot more fun and involved in fights..
EvalWarrior
Eval, Magery, Macing, Tactics, Anatomy, Heal, Resist
95 Strength, 85 Dex, 45 Int
*Mace Fighting is pretty critical for this one, you want them out of stamina as much as possible.
Play this as if you're a warrior but use magery for emergency heals, but mostly for extra damage for finishing them off.
The other template I use is the generic Medwarrior
Magery, Med, Swords, Tactics, Anatomy, Heal, Resist
100 Strength, 90 Dex, 35 Int. Always carry a magical wizard cap (+5 Int, -5 Str, -5 Dex)
I have a dress macro to equip a plate tunic which I hit as soon as I see my opponent equip their hally (if it's a tank mage), and if I come against another warrior, I usually keep it equipped for the extra protection (sometimes I have a Dress2 macro to add leggings and arms for more protection)

Any hybrids with wrestle?
Without wrestle i dont see you getting many spells at all off in tourneys.. the second you unequip you are looking at a 100% hit chance from the gm weapon attacking you?
Isnt this the case?

It's all about your experience on a template. Knowing when to unequip is critical.Hoots wrote:Any hybrids with wrestle?

As for wrestling, I've seen a few before (combat, tactics, anatomy, heal, resist, magery, wrestling) - they mostly use wrestling as the extra defense when needing a heal/cure (most of the time they bandage while poisoned, cast cure right before the aids kick in, so they are cured and then healed up quickly)
It works, but it's also not all that necessary in a T2A setting (that template is a lot nicer post UOR due to stun punch)
