Dexxers for PvP
Dexxers for PvP
Hey all,
New to board and server. How are dexxers on this server? I understand T2A is the era of the tank mage. But I always loved playing dexxers in pvp, although they were almost always at a disadvantage. Mounts definitely help for dexxers, so I figured I'd give it a first shot as my first character. They are also cheaper to make, and he can double as my money maker for now.
Here was my template:
Macing
Tact
Anat
Heal
Meditation
50 hide/50 magery for heals and recall
Resist
Is this any good? Would the damage be sufficient to drop people? Any other good dexxer templates for pvp?
Thanks!

Re: Dexxers for PvP
GM magery. The skill is proportional to the amount of damage you heal via it's usage.
Re: Dexxers for PvP
I agree. 50 hiding is useless...just GM magery as it determines the amount healed via magic...I would get rid of Meditation and exchange it for either Eval or Hiding...depending on what you are going to be doing with the char.
If you are planning on wearing armor, which you should for hally hits, Med is useless.

Only townie that stands a chance in PvP is a med-fighter, imo. Like Matron said, you'll need GM magery for those big heals, it's what gives that build an edge over other "dexxers."
P.S. When did people start calling them dexxers? We called them townies on Chesapeake. Just curious, I never heard a warrior called that until I found UOSA.

dexer
were common terms for people with alot of dex making them a warrior
townie meant you had no resists and thus pvped only in town.
not all dexers were townies
but all townies were dexers generally :O

also people usually referred to "townies" as their secondary character. Their main was their "main" "Townie" was also kinda derogatory.
I know by some of Monks posts he spends time around the furt. I played Shadowclan back in the day and nobody ever referred to [ORC] as "townies" even though 75% were dexxers

Re: Dexxers for PvP
Well equipped dexers can be a nightmare for a mage, but "well equipped" is expensive (suit of armor, magic reflect items, magic weapon, potions and more potions). A mage just needs a bag of regs and a hally, so a dexer is more of a risk. Your temp is not bad, but like others have said, drop the hiding, and GM med (I also like wrestling) for a 7th skill.
Re: Dexxers for PvP
Check out my Tips & Tricks 2 thread if you're considering putting Meditation on your dexer (tldr: don't). I'd suggest Wrestling as a 7th skill. If you need to get off more than 25 mana worth of heals, you are doing something grossly wrong anyways.

I agree with you, tried med and didn't really like it.Mikel123 wrote:Check out my Tips & Tricks 2 thread if you're considering putting Meditation on your dexer (tldr: don't).
