Housing space?
Is there any left?
I havent been out of Brit that far and I see a bunch of houses and towers with nothing in them...do they decay?

Re: Housing space?
There are hundreds of spots for smalls, spots for others are around but require a bit of looking. The only spaces you're really not going to find are keep or castle spots.
House decay is 14 days if not refreshed by owner/co-owners/friends.

Re: Housing space?
If you are not lucky enough to place a bigger then small house, no worries. Most of these "empty" bigger houses are for sale!
I have been away awhile, just getting back into it. I had trouble placing a bigger house, but then I realized that their are brokers who sell awesomely placed houses for slightly more then deed. Really nice spots go for a little more.
The extra money above deed price is no problem if it saves you the headache and time of struggling to find and place.
I used Telamon, the Land Baron. Trade was smooth and I got what I wanted a Two Story in the middle of nowhere (What I wanted). I could have paid a lil more for a better location, but I prefer the out of the way locale.
Anyway...that is my 2 cents. To me the housing situation on UOSA is extremely healthy! Lots of turnover and easy to get a sweet place, if you monitor the forums.

is it still 1 house per account?
not per character. I hope so.

Welcome Lum,
The houses look empty to reduce lag. If you walk on the steps of a house, all items in the houses will appear on your client. Same with ships.
I saw you posting questions on the IPY forums and I can honestly say, this is a much better and more accurate server. If you have more questions, feel free to ask.

seems like that's no good when everyone has 3 accounts or more. really not fair to new players trying to place houses.

Re: Housing space?
I don't think it's been a problem, having the ability to have 1 house per char. If you've ever had a lot of houses, it really becomes a chore to make sure they are all refreshed.
Small house deed spots are plentiful. I can go place about 5 in an hour, right now. The next easiest one to place is going to be the L-shape. I am confident I can find a spot for one in just a few hours of looking. Dagger Isle is one of the easiest places to place (very few obstructions).
Anything larger, a new player probably would not have been able to purchase. I stumble across a patio/brick/tower spot often enough, though I'm not looking to place or make my UO living on real estate. Some people do, and it would be far more difficult for them with only 1 house per account.
As was mentioned earlier, placed houses are not much over deed (usually). If a player has the gold, he can find a decent house - purchased or placed.

For someone whose only been playing here a month you sure seem to have become quite adept at pointing out everything that's wrong with it.Le Tigre wrote: seems like that's no good when everyone has 3 accounts or more. really not fair to new players trying to place houses.
Re: Housing space?
found a tower spot a while back, placed and tried to sell it. nobody wanted it, so i redeeded after some time.
that much for scarce house spaces.

Yea, IPY had some real nice people. I just couldn't picture myself running on foot in PvP or in battle with a poison ele...Zorce wrote:Welcome Lum,

I can attest to this. I took a deed out yesterday and placed it 10 - 12 times with no problem before settling on the location I liked the most.
Anyone who wants help placing, PM here and I'll be happy to meet and show you to some of them.
Re: Housing space?
There's at least one tower spot out there now. Happy hunting.
Re: Housing space?
Actually, it's era accurate. The earlier you joined, the better the housing spot you got. If you joined T2A or later, you were stuck buying a house from someone else.Le Tigre wrote: seems like that's no good when everyone has 3 accounts or more. really not fair to new players trying to place houses.
