People's definition of easy might vary but what is very like true is that you can spend a couple hours a day mining and as long as you are doing it right (many guides are available I'm sure) then you will be living in a nice tower or keep in no time. Aside from mining you can chop for boards, farm for wool, or create a half decent fighter mage and farm liches for easy cash. Make sure you have an easy escape procedure in place because most good lich spawns are also PK magnets due to obvious reasons.

I'm not absolutely sure; but I think buying UO gold might be a no no for shard rules.

You might want to read the shard rules very carefully to be sure.

And that is great advice about mining and smithing. People tend to want things now, which is ok,

but Second Age, is like the origional way back when. Basically folks had to work their arses off to

get gold to build up their characters.

The advantage here is Razor macroing ( not for resources, that's a no no) but for the other things.

I bought my first two small houses here, on crafting skills and some cotton and wool.

Actually, in true T2A era there was quite a bit of ebay and buying gold...and, I believe, it was prior to any ebay crackdowns.

My friend sold a tower and account for 1500 bucks on ebay. I sold a wrong house for 128 once trammel ruined the game and then sold my account for another 128.

I remember reading somewhere once probably around 2002-2004 that the UO economy was better than many developing countries at the time. The value of UO gold in US dollars was better than many other currencies. Tried looking for that article but to no avail.

Uo gold once sold for $100 US per million. I sold the first account I made, baught an account with better characters but stripped of it's items. Acquired new items in 1/4th the time and sold the second account for a really nice penny.
