from what i'm seeing here, people who are using these event gates are avoiding combat.
if someones in a house, at least you can cast spells. it's not a trammel area.
it really is stupid that people can burn off murder counts in a safe area.
just make them risk it in one of the billion tiles that are "dangerous"

I wasn't joking when I stated (seriously it's right there in my quote) that I don't participate in events. I've not been killed by his balrons, and, if this remains his modus operandi, they'll never pose a threat to me.

This is a good idea. I'd put a system message at the end of the tournament or whatever that says "you have 5 minutes to leave the event area or you will be moved to the Buccaneer's Den event gate location"... and then I'd do that.

very true i just see this as a quick fix bandaid for a much bigger problem being the events them selfs. Like the fact eq does not function with the same mechanics during events for example or many other things =\

I now officially agree with Matron that events should be removed.

Reasons for these two considerable shifts in my opinion will appear in the coming days - the argument will not be based on the Matron argument (era-accuracy) but policy reasons that are separate and apart from era-accuracy.

This thread is nothing to do with griefing, Lelouche has repeatedly made clear his dissatisfaction with the lack of field pvp action due to people hiding in the Trammel lobby.

I don't think gating people to balron traps counts as field pvp...and what makes you (or anyone) think that taking away the trammel lobby is going to increase field pvp anyway? If people don't want to play, aside from events, there are plenty of easy solutions that don't include trammel. The only thing his suggestion will increase is the amount of people traversing event gates...which he overlays with a gate to his lame ass balrons.
