Im not too familiar with ranger armor - is the blessing considererd grandfathered? Is it the type of thing that came blessed or did you need to use CBDs on it?

It came blessed (certain ones were, I think Xmas ones are but silver rewards were not.) It is breakable, however I wouldn't expect people to be pvping in this.
