Whats up with IRC?

Post by Cousteau Calypso »

[16:26:53] Running lightIRC 1.0 @ 04. October 2010. Project home: www.lightirc.com
[16:27:14] Flash policy problem. If you are the server owner, please read www.lightirc.com/faq.html#security. You need to install a flash policy daemon at flash.wildirc.net (port 843).

Is a security issue with all Flash-Based clients, like the web clients. I'm not sure what's going on with it, but if you want to avoid it altogether, you can download a standalone program for IRC and it won't require the Flash Policy Daemons to function.

After install the total size is 1.5mb, as an irc client should be. Stay away from mIRC at all costs.

IRC Server: irc.wildirc.net
Port: 6667 (default)

Use the Add button to add the server and when it asks what room to join after connecting, enter 'secondage' after the #

I've talked to HollyW00d (a wild IRC Admin), and he has confirmed that web chat will not be stable for a time, but he is working on the system. In the mean time please consider a IRC client rather then a flash app.
