I have been farming Air ellys for the past few days--Been raising my resist this way. I know its easier to use a mage..But I prefer this way. What is a magic monster that is a step above air ellys?
Thanks
Magic monsters
Re: Magic monsters
I'd go with NPC evil mages. They seem to help raise resist decently. Alternatively, you might want to try liches, but be prepared to die early and often to pk's, as any lich spawn attracts pk's like a moth to a flame.

Re: Magic monsters
Dude you should so macro in a mage area penning yourself in and have a quick gate on standby in town. Next dude that comes in would be popping by amped NPCs... "
WTF I just got triple flamestriked...and I think... Twice
?!"
I am talking hardcore out for blood red mages
not those twerps in wind
....but the brats are for hire...unemployment in wind rose after they became an isolationist hermit society
Too bad you couldnt arm them with spellbooks you decide what goes in to make their casting a bit more programmed in what they use however...
Would make training both them and you more efficient.

I have a dim memory from back in the day that I used reapers for a lot of my resist training from 85+ as well as summoned demons while on a boat with people healing me.
Reapers seem an ok choice if you are soloing. Just have lots of pots/regs to heal through the damage.

Evil mages cast up to level 6 - You can find these in Shame, Fire dungeon and a few in Ice dungeon. They drop about 100gp and rare colored robes per.
Gargoyles cast up to level 6 - Not sure where a great place to farm for these is, but I would suggest starting in hythloth. They also drop about 100gp per.
Evil mage lord cast up to level 7 - You can find these again in Shame, Fire dungeon or a few in Ice dungeon. These guys drop about 500gp, and cool 1109 hue'd robes which some players will pay a decent amount for.
Liches cast up to level 7 - You can find these in cove, yew ruins and of course, in deceit. With a silver weapon you will go through them like a hot knife through butter. They will drop about 300gp/per and magic items frequently - However PK's do like to gank at most lich spawn areas and I would not bother with them unless you are prepared to lose everything on you.
Asides from these 4 mobs, I can't really think of anything that will be easy to kill and still give you good gains.
