I tried placing a large brick earlier today without success and after seeing the 'Grandfathered Houses' topic in Era Accuracy it made me want to come on here and talk about this. When I played three or four years ago, my friend and I owned every single house spot on Jhelom. We did that on purpose. He has started a guild, I wanted to make it big and popular, he just wanted it to be us two b/c he didn't trust anybody, we bother stopped playing two years ago, et cetera... all together there were 7 or 8 houses, all of them small. There was one spot that could have accomodated an L-Shaped or something similar but we put two smalls there instead.
Now looking at Jhelom there are houses all over the place! Way more than there were ever room for before. So it's clear that someone made new space for them. And it's not much of a gamble to guess that in some of the other heavily colonized areas of the world the exact same thing happened. I ain't mad, but I'm wondering how a player goes about petitioning staff to make room for a bigger house.
Placing Houses
Re: Placing Houses
You don't. Housing had an era accuracy patch that made the placement of houses on slopes easier to do, but also made the check on steps more stringent. Staff does not place houses for players nor make unavailable locations available for housing.

Thanks Braden. Very clear answer. No room for misinterpretation there
