Advanced taming question

Post by Hoots »

So i grinded and grinded for about 3 weeks. Last night i finally saw the +.1 to 95.1

Went to find a mare and wouldnt you know it was pure black... dream come true for my first mare!

2 hours and a couple hundred GH reags later no mare and i had to give up and goto bed.

I expected to spend about an hour taming (from what i had heard from most) but 2 hours + without success?

Is there a certain skill i should try and get before trying again?

Disappointed doesnt even do justice to how i felt last night after striving for 95.1 for so long!

Thanks

95.1 is the skill needed to ATTEMPT to tame a mare. Just like any creature when you're able to attempt tames on it, it takes forever to tame and because this is a mare, the "You seem to anger the beast!" just makes it seem longer. Add to that the spell damage and fire breath damage and you have one giant pain in the ass.

I would suggest waiting till GM to bother with mares/dragons/wyrms but if you absolutely must have one, just stock up with about 200 of each gheal reg and try again. Just be prepared to be there for at least an hour, maybe two...unless you're lucky.

well, i think ill take a naked gm healer with me and try to multi client it on the future.

No loss if i get jumped and he dies or anything.

Waiting till GM was certainly not what i was hoping to hear... It would just be nice to be able to ride on a mare i tamed myself and take a break from taming for a little as im pretty burnt out on it now! i always planned to gm the char but i need a damn break from it at this point! 95.1 was certainly a milestone in my mind.

You were just unlucky. You should be able to tame a mare with minimum skill within an hour and get a couple gains too.

i assume you're talking about the nightmare spawn in the circle grassy area. that mare was a tough one to tame. it took me 2 hours just to tame it. 100 lore/taming btw

Yeah, a greek god's name who if often associated with animals and nature is ...."Your character's name" Although i wouldnt expect someone who calls people faggots in a forum to be educated enough to have any sort of clue about that.

My own take on the name was using it on a male character instead of a female like the daughter of zeus...

Yes, i did find out you had a gm tamer named Artemis, but it was well after this char was being built. No worries, no one will confuse me with a dickhead killing newbs in brit cemetery with WWs...

There is a new guy at my job, his name is Phil. Needless to say, I was so pissed because he has the same name as me ! I told him and for some reason he didn't seems to care at all I punched him in the face.

I'm 100% with you on that Alatar
