help combat

hi to all.
i have much problem with fencing and swordmanship.
i have 2 pg, and they sparring...
for start i sparring with dagger for fencer and butcher for sword.
but they inflict some damage.
after i create a macro, if hit's <= 75 he move, badage er self and return to fight.
they have a plate iron with heater shield.
but i macro by 14 pm, and at 20.40 (now), the skill increase by 1.8, and i have 15...
i'm shoked O_O
it's normal?
what is the easy way to GM sword / fancing / mace?
training dummy?
i have just hire an npc mage, but i kill it in 1 minutes, and if he die, i die too

HELP ME PLEASE, and sorry for my bad english

You cannot gain skill sparring with other players here. The best NPC to hire is a paladin (there are a lot in Delucia, and there sometimes is 1 or 2 in the tavern south of west brit bank).

There is a trick you can do to make it so they do not attack you back (which means all you have to do is continue to hit them while you heal them with bandages). I believe this trick is explained in this excellent guide for new players which I highly recommend, but really just involves attacking the NPC while hidden (and at LEAST 2 squares away), and then coming out of hiding:
