Re: UO on Reddit
It was Reddit that pointed me in the right direction.
Re: UO on Reddit
Such a bigoted, racist website. The user base on that website is about the worst you can find on the internet.
Join Project Panda Today! Let the users of Reddit know that they are slowing cultural progress by continuing to promote rape culture and the normalization of the abuse of children. http://www.reddit.com/r/shitredditsays

Can't really blame the website for it's users...tekai wrote:Such a bigoted, racist website. The user base on that website is about the worst you can find on the internet.

Well one can, but it's not really justified.
Re: UO on Reddit
Sure you can. There are rules posted all over THIS website telling you that if you post certain things they will be deleted. Reddit feels free speech means its OK to be a horrible person, and allow the posting of horrible things. I don't want to associate with that website, and I would like it if less people did.
If someone is going to post about the good parts, I am going to post about the bad parts.. Which is Most of the website. Posting my opinion on a website is free speech, not talking about how funny abuse is.
If they would just clean up and moderate the website like EVERYWHERE else, then we wouldn't be having this conversation. Seriously go read SRS and tell me you are OK with the comments not being deleted.

Sorry for responding to this. This thread is about finding more users for this server.tekai wrote:Sure you can. I read that SRS for a while. I don't believe in limiting speech. If you'd like to live with limited free speech, I suggest you visit Trammel.

Actually, you are the one downplaying free speech by saying they should squelch the unsavory things being said.tekai wrote:Oh so a Redditer doesn't like free speech? Color me surprised.
Reddit has no boundaries for what can be said and as such, be ready to read some things you find offensive, off color or completely inappropriate on any planet. It's not like this is new, at all.
This is the internet and /b/ has been at it for quite a while already.

Re: UO on Reddit
As long as it is advertised that its a horrible place, then that is OK. The problem is, is they are trying to promote the site as the "Front page of the Internet" and "Family Friendly" (lol).
If they want to be the high seas's no holds bar of the internet, then they will always get people like me and places like CNN, Gawker ect doing truth filled Expo-says on them. It is not a healthy environment, and shouldn't be toted as such. It is in the same category as Red tube in my opinion.

Who touts it as a healthy or friendly family environment? It's a sandbox. User generated content.tekai wrote:As long as it is advertised that its a horrible place, then that is OK. Make a thread in trash talk or something for frock's sake. Reddit, whatever it may be, is a place where users can find this server. For that reason, and that reason alone, I think you ought to stop derailing the thread.
Re: UO on Reddit
I am not derailing the thread. He Plugged a website that has a well documented history of being terrible, and I'm simply warning people that may not know just how horrible it is.
I am in every way entitled to my opinion on topic in this thread. I am not using trash language and I am debating in a calm and rational manner.
You are not telling new players to come to UOsecondage, you are telling UOSecondage players to go to Reddit.

Re: UO on Reddit
1. It is your opinion that Reddit is horrible, not fact.tekai wrote:I am not derailing the thread. He Plugged a website that has a well documented history of being terrible, and I'm simply warning people that may not know just how horrible it is.

You are not telling new players to come to UOsecondage, you are telling UOSecondage players to go to Reddit.
2. You are not giving an opinion about the UO reddit subforum, the place where this thread is referencing.
3. I am not telling anyone to go to reddit. I don't even go there myself.
4. If UO players use the UO reddit subforum, then there seems to be little harm to recruiting from there.
5. The subject of this thread is recruiting from the UO subforum of reddit. Your posts are not about this. You are derailing the thread.
