Mare spawn and horses?

I know Derrick recently added a change to animal spawn and he specifically said it had something to do with horses.

I havnt seen a mare all week. I hit up all the usual spots, multiple times a day, and find no mares and also no players or signs of players waiting on them.

So, is it that i am just having bad luck/timing and someone is taming them first or is there a problem with the spawn.

The reason i mention horses is, oddly, when visting known mare spawns for the first time ever i have seen horses in the area...

So i think asking if something got screwed up between horse and mare spawn is a valid question?

I have also killed anything alive in areas (Great harts, Gorillas, horses, silver serps, mongbats, etc) to see if that would force a mare to spawn and i had no luck.

How many you have stabled now? im guessing 20-30?

Yesterday around 1PM EST I attempted my first mare tame. Failed, ended up having to go do something around 2PM. When I went back it wasn't there anymore, but I just assumed someone else had tamed it.

Logically speaking...if there are no signs of players waiting for them it would mean there was either a public change (i.e. you could search and find it) or you simply aren't seeing the players that are going to the spot.

If something changed and broke it...would you not still see other players...like you...waiting at the spot wondering what is up?

thats why i asked... i have watched mares spawn for the last 2-3 weeks and now im mad i didnt tame/farm them as i cant find one!

I figured i had 2 in the stables so whats the point! Im an idiot for not sticking to basic UO 101... hoard, hoard, hoard. doesnt matter what it is. Hoard it!
