Hally is without question the most powerful. There really isn't a macing weapon that even comes close to having the damage output a hally has.

Well in era mace was viable, but not on this server here you can only use haly as a mage.

ride around with a hally like everyone else YAWN. Stam drain means nothing because people can chug total refresh potions all day. Even if they run out of potions they can just invis item/recall once they dont want to fight you anymore.

Basically it's hally mage with 3 other hally mages or go home.

Such poor attitudes...

Either one is a viable template. Swords mages are indeed the most "powerful", in terms of damage output... but macer mages are actually pretty nice in the field, with a quick quarterstaff and stamina drain. They are especially nice with a magic weapon.

In the field??

Ever fight a mace tank in an arena? Better have brought a red keg and 20 ping.

An Advantage of a Mace Mage is that you can be using Staffs of Lightning/Greater Heal/Fireball etc and not be penalized for having 0 macing when your opponent gets into melee range

Halberd mage is most effective. Macing has its place, and it's generally not on a mage.

I have an eval macer with healing and anat. Works fantastic and I've taken down some serious field pvp'ers with the template. I've considered building a true mace tank, but just never got around to it.

The only thing you miss is some burst damage, so it changes the play style a bit. You're holding spells longer and not relying on the harm, hit, harm, hit tactics of a hally mage; but rather wearing them down with the quick and consistent staff hits and then dropping spells as a finisher.

It's my name for the hybrid template I've built.

Still needs to be finished, but you get the idea. Should be GM resist and no med, so it plays like a dexer with full armor and I just hold an ebolt to finish.

Says you..http://my.uosecondage.com/Status/Player/250910

Honestly, macing weapons do such mediocre damage for the most part that it's actually better on a mage character by far. Whenever I've had macing on a dexer I've found it takes me goddamn forever to kill anyone. Then I put it on a mage and oh look, knee deep in death.
